Today, I want to share a new episode with Lee Robinson.
Lee is the VP of Developer Experience at Cursor and a legend in his field. While most people are still vibe coding, Lee showed me how to build apps properly using planning, test-driven development, AI agent workflows, and more. This is a must-watch tutorial for beginners who want to learn how to build with AI the right way.
Lee and I talked about:
(00:00) How the way we build software is fundamentally changing
(03:49) Live demo: Building a music tracking app with Cursor
(5:17) The critical setup phase most people skip (tests, git, linting)
(16:03) Foreground vs background agents and when to use each
(27:34) How to create cursor rules that compound your workflows
(37:31) Why experienced engineers shouldn't fear AI tools
(42:19) Essential advice for PMs who want to learn technical skills
(44:48) How Cursor builds products without any PM
(47:18) The future of generalist engineers in an AI world

In this video essay analysis, we investigate the impact of AI tools from a pedagogical perspective. How is Artificial Intelligence reshaping the very foundation of higher education? What is the impact of Artificial Intelligence on learning and teaching? These questions become critical as we navigate the transformative power of AI tools in academia. What happens when AI-driven content is everywhere? Do students swap active learning for passive scrolling? When convenience suppresses creativity, are we trading depth for speed? In an era where we can leverage AI for personalised learning experiences, we must also ask ourselves: Can we risk affecting authentic human creativity by over-relying on AI? Can the widespread use of AI academic aids, such as automated writing evaluation tools or personalised e-tutors, inadvertently discourage students from collaborative learning experiences? Beyond just the efficiency of algorithms, what about the depth of human thought, art, and culture?
How do AI tools fare when confronted with the nuances of human expression? Can AI tools carry biases? As we embrace the technological advancements of AI, it's crucial to check the datasets and training mechanisms behind them. And as AI is integrated into the educational environment, what about overreliance on these tools? Can it become a trap, lulling us into passive consumption and stifling the very creativity we aim to nurture?

Physics on Khan Academy: Physics is the study of the basic principles that govern the physical world around us. We'll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we'll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts in lots of different physical situations. To get the most out of physics, you'll need a solid understanding of algebra and a basic understanding of trigonometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

Paris Kent, the dance director at Bellaire High School in Houston, has sent her students into physics classes to help students learn about the rotation of an axis through the movement of their bodies, demonstrating how a person’s size impacts the speed of the rotation. It’s just one way Kent works to incorporate dance across the curriculum.
But the methods for utilizing movement are just as plentiful as the reasons for doing so—from giving students an opportunity to share elements of their culture, creating connections between students and their teachers, and increasing student engagement.
Here, Kent shares how teachers can incorporate dance and movement into their classrooms in small, time-effective ways.
In this multi-day activity, students explore environments, ecosystems, energy flow and organism interactions by creating a scale model biodome, following the steps of the engineering design process. The Procedure section provides activity instructions for Biodomes unit, lessons 2-6, as students work through Parts 1-6 to develop their model biodome. Subjects include energy flow and food chains, basic needs of plants and animals, and the importance of decomposers. Students consider why a solid understanding of one's environment and the interdependence of an ecosystem can inform the choices we make and the way we engineer our own communities. This activity can be conducted as either a very structured or open-ended design.

Today we're going to begin our three-part unit on p-values. In this episode we'll talk about Null Hypothesis Significance Testing (or NHST) which is a framework for comparing two sets of information. In NHST we assume that there is no difference between the two things we are observing and and use our p-value as a predetermined cutoff for if something seems sufficiently rare or not to allow us to reject that these two observations are the same. This p-value tells us if something is statistically significant, but as you'll see that doesn't necessarily mean the information is significant or meaningful to you.

A massive AI shift is unfolding behind the scenes. Reports and leaks suggest OpenAI is preparing a new consumer device codenamed DIME, an AI-first audio wearable built around constant voice interaction, while at the same time the company is rolling out powerful new agent systems like GPT-5.3 Codex, App Server, and Frontier that could reshape how software, enterprises, and even financial institutions operate. As fake ads go viral and markets react, the line between AI tools and real-world automation is starting to blur fast.
