Sorting and Matching Activities for Toddlers | Preschool and Kindergarten
It is very important to plan some fun activities for kids that will also help them to learn fast. Such kind of activities influence the minds of kids in a more creative way and makes learning an easy process for kids. So what fun activities can you plan for your kid?
You can start with some beach activities. Kids love beaches and playing with sand, so how about building a color lesson on the beach. It’s very easy, just take two different color buckets and some other colored tools. So, while they build their sand houses also ask them to put the same colored tools in the matching colored bucket. This will help them recognize colors individually and will also remember their names.
You can also use some clothes to help them understand patterns and how they match with each other. All you need to do is to collect some clothes and then ask the kid to match their own outfit for the day. So, if they are wearing stripes pants of green color, they would need the same pattern on their shirt too to create the perfect outfit. This will enable the kid to understand patterns and how they work with colors.
You can plan several such fun activities for toddlers. They are easy to follow, and the kids learn a lot from them.

Line Plots | Teaching Math for Second Grade | Kids Academy
If your little one is now old enough to read textbooks of maths for second grade and if now it’s that time when he is supposed to start learning about line plots and what they are then yes, you are at the right place! We are going to tell you how to make it a fun process to teach your little one about line plots and educate him about where these plots are used.
For starters, we totally agree with the fact that maths is a little boring for children and they easily lose interest in this subject. Especially when you will be teaching your little one about line plots, it would be very normal if he won’t pay attention to you. On the other hand, you don’t actually have a choice and you need to educate them somehow which is where you need to start focusing on the part where you need to make maths a little exciting for your children.
For those who don’t know, a line plot is basically a line graph that is more of a chart where information is displayed along the lines with numbers on them. Now, to teach your child about line plots, you can make them watch online videos, especially the Youtube ones because there are people giving away free Youtube lectures for grade 2 kids for maths and all the other subjects too.
If you opt for visuals, chances are that your child will learn things quicker and he won’t feel dull or bored in that case. So, use online videos to teach your children and play different math fun games too so that your child can develop some interest in this subject.
You will have to put in some effort in your child right now but we assure you that this effort and all your struggle will be worth the results.

Here at Kid’s Academy, we know that improving young students’ critical thinking skills helps them become stronger students when they enter primary school. These videos teach students observational skills, reasoning skills and logical thinking with sorting games and matching games. And very young children begin learning first with color games.
Games and instruction for toddlers and students in preschool and Kindergarten begin with learning about colors. Color games for kids include not only naming colors but also matching objects of the same color. Once students master color, they begin to work on sorting games and look at the size and then shape to describe, sort and classify objects. Language skills improve as well because students have the words to describe the world around them.
As students progress, students use higher-order thinking skills to determine if there is more than one way to sort objects and use reasoning skills to decide if objects go together and why they go together.
Students enjoy learning with the child-friendly instruction on these clips. Skills and concepts include:
• Matching colors.
• identifying toys that are the “same” and “different.”
• Objects that fit together. A fish and water go together, and cookies and milk fit together. Students use logic and reasoning to find other things that go together.
• Finding the object that is different in a group of objects. Students look for differences in size, shape, color or position.
• Matching objects that are exactly the same.
• Sorting objects by size.
• Sorting objects in a group two different ways—by size and color.
Kid’s Academy’s logic games for kids are fun! Children want to watch and play more and more! The videos are a valuable tool for the classroom as well as for parents wanting to help their children improve their thinking and reasoning skills.

Learn to Play Chess | What is Pins? | Chess Tactics
What are the pins? The pin is amongst most common chess tactics. Pins happen when we are attacking a piece and a more valuable piece s revealed behind it.
Pins only happen in a straight line and for long-range pieces which means rooks, bishops and queens can make this move. Pawns, knights and kings can unfortunately not make this move.
It mostly happens when you attack a piece like a knight by a rook, but there is king behind this knight.
So, the knight is now pinned between a rook and the king. It cannot be moved because if the knight moves the king, which is the most valuable piece in chess, will be captured and it will be checkmate. So instantly you lose the game.
However, you need to play this move very carefully because you end up losing more points because when you capture through a pin you can put yourself in a threat by some other piece lying just there in position to capture your piece. So if you are teaching chess for kids beginners teach them to always be alert in chess.

Because young children have an interest about the world around them and want to know how things work, science is a subject that is captivating for young students in Preschool and Kindergarten. Here at Kid’s Academy, we explain the concepts of sound and light clearly and easily and students can’t help but want to learn more! In the videos, teacher Andrew and the fun cartoon character, Ball-y, explain these concepts with light and sound experiments for Kindergarten and 1st grade.
This series of videos teaches students what sound and light are as well how sound and light are made. In addition to teaching that sound and light are energy, there are experiments for kids that the videos demonstrate for the children to see and do on their own. Students may not understand how sound waves travel. The videos show sound wave experiments to explain this concept. Pluck a guitar string and see the vibrations, or watch how rice on a baking sheet vibrates when held over a speaker playing loud music. Other sound experiments for students include listening to sounds and trying to guess what makes the sound.
Students also learn how we use sound and light to communicate. When discussing light, students learn that traffic lights, lighthouses, and lights on radios, phones and appliances all tell us something. Sounds communicate to us too. Doorbells, sirens, school bells and whistles use sound to convey a message. Do sound experiments for kids and brainstorm other ways that light and sound communicate to us! Or, think of new ways that sound and light can be used.
Kid’s Academy includes a review video that teachers use to summarize the concepts in this lesson series. The review video defines light and sound again, shows how light and sound travel to our eyes and ears and then to our brain, and gives examples of light and sound.
When incorporating these science videos into your classroom, the concepts of sound and light are clearly explained. The videos show experiments for kids that encourage and engage students to learn and explore their world!

Meet our chess lesson for kids: How King Moves and Captures | Chess Lessons | Kids Academy
King is the most important piece on the chess board, it is the leader of all the pieces and one who captures the king wins the game.
Now like all other pieces king can also move only in some certain ways. It can move only one step at a time. However, it can move in any direction as long as it is one step at a time. So, it can move diagonally, vertically, sideways, upwards and downwards, diagonally upwards and diagonally downwards.
The king also captures one step at a time. Which means that whatever piece is in the one step distance of the king, it will be captured by it. If there is a piece at a longer distance from the king, the king will have to move all the steps one at a time as long as it reaches that piece and then it captures it.
The king also needs to be protected by the other pieces on the board because if your king gets captured by the opponents’ king, then your game is over.
King is the most important piece on the chessboard and must be protected because with its capture the game ends.
So that was a quick chess lesson for beginners about king moves and how it captures.

However, if you are here to know about the Scholar’s Mate in Chess and if you want to know how this move is made then yes, you are at the right place, reading the right content.
Scholar’s Mate In Chess
The scholar’s mate in chess is also known as the four move checkmate. This checkmate is one of the most common ways to end a chess game and every chess player has come across this checkmate at least once in their lives during their games.
What actually happens is that in this checkmate, the White opens by opening to 1.e2-e4, it then develops the bishop to none other than the C4 and all of that is done to attack the f-7 pawn and at last, it ends up developing the queen to h5.
Wasn’t it easy? Well, it definitely was and if you want some more information on this step then yes, you should try watching videos.
