The alphabets are the basis of the child’s education. This is where the child learns the concept of education and learning new things. Since the basis of the child’s education is formed from here, it needs to be strong. This is the start of a child’s academics and this is where the child will learn about the new face of their life.

Children start feeling interested and they start responding to the alphabets at the age of around two years. Their minds are totally fresh and are like a canvas. Whatever you paint on this canvas right now, will stay on it forever and will affect every other thing that comes there. They are ready to grasp new ideas and learn new things.

You can start teaching your child the alphabets at this stage however before you start teaching it is very important that you know the nature of your child first. Every child responds differently and has his/her own speed and way of learning. Different kids will respond differently to the methods of teaching, just because one method is working for some other kid does not mean that it has to work for your kid as well.

Every child has their own strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, it is very important that no pressure is put on the child because this pressure will only make the child dislike this new concept of learning and academics and eventually he/she will lose the interest, which is a very harmful thing.
When your kid goes to school he/she will be required to know the basics such as knowing all the alphabet verbally, identifying the upper case and lower-case letter, matching the upper case and lower-case letters and being able to identify the sounds of the alphabets. So, this basically means that the responsibility of teaching the basics is on the parents.
Easy ways to make your child learn the alphabets

1.The alphabet song

There is nothing better than the alphabet song to teach a child the alphabets. Kids respond very well to the tune and learn the alphabets very quickly as compared to the other methods. The tune will gradually start to settle in their minds and eventually the alphabets will become a part of their memory.

2. The reading books

There are many alphabet books available that can help you make your child familiar with the alphabets. Kids might respond differently to the reading books because some kids are naturally not interested in the books and respond better to other graphical things like videos. So this concludes that in such a case videos would be your best choice to make your kid learn.

3. The videos

The videos are the most effective and quick way of teaching kids the alphabets. Videos tend to be more attractive to the kids since in videos they see more colors and animations. Kids are naturally more attracted to colors and this is in every kid, so videos are effective for everyone. Videos are also more effective because through videos the kid will be using three of his senses. He will be watching the alphabets appear on the screen, he will hear the pronunciation of the alphabets and he will naturally try to repeat what he is seeing and hearing. Therefore he/she will be learning much faster than any other method of teaching.
There are a lot of videos available on YouTube. You can choose any of the videos, choose the one that your kid finds the most interesting and responds the best too. Just do a little research.

4. Use props

When you go into the kids market you will see many toys and props that make use of the alphabets. There are very interesting alphabet toys and are very effective for the kids. Make the child learn while he plays. Look for some fun toys with alphabets on them so that the child also learns while he plays because while playing the child is ready to learn and explore new things. This is your best chance to introduce them to the alphabets.

What is learning?

How can you make learning easier and fun, especially for kids? How can you develop their interest in acquiring new things? Well, if you really want to dig into the details of these questions make sure you read on.

What is learning?

Learning is basically acquiring knowledge, new skills, behaviors, preferences, and values. Nelson Mandela once said:
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

So, basically learning and educating is something everyone needs to do for sure. Now let’s move on to the next question.
How to make learning easier for kids?

There are several different techniques highly suggested by the educational psychologists which certainly makes learning easier for kids. Here are a few tips.
• Make them watch interesting and related videos.
• Use images and pictures more to explain and elaborate a little better.
• Choose a quiet place when learning.
• Take breaks in between lecture so the kids aren’t exhausted.
• Make sure the kids are fresh and listening carefully.

Now, off to the third question.

How can you develop their interest in learning?
Okay, so this is mainly the hard part. Developing the interests is the most challenging and daunting task. Even though there are some kids who are interested in learning new things on their own but a few require some extra attention, most of the time. There are few tips which can make developing the interest of children a lot easier.

Have a look:
• Use a lot of attracting colors, puppets, and flashcards to develop their interest in learning.
• Videos can also make learning more interesting.
• Pictures and slideshows can also help in developing children interest.

The Letter C:

Alphabets are the first thing taught in school and trust me it’s quite grueling and strenuous. Why? Well, because it’s not only about memorizing the alphabet. You need to help them make different sounds of the alphabet, help them write it, pronounce it, make words out of it and then use it in the sentence. But obviously you don’t do it all at once, right?

The initial step is to make them learn to read, pronounce and write the alphabet. Let’s discuss how to pronounce the letter C.
Letter C is the third alphabet in the ABC’s. Everyone is quite of that I’m sure. So let’s stick on to this word and figure out how to learn it easily.

Learn Letter C:

Okay, so we have already learned the different ways which can help make learning easier. One of the best ways is to put on images, flashcards, and most importantly videos. Videos not only help in developing an interest in learning but also assists in remembering and recalling the alphabets. Making children watch videos is best for children who have a problem with concentration and do not pay attention.

How to learn the Letter C?

Pronunciation of the letter is most important. Obviously, there is more than one way to pronounce the letter C. To make that easier playing a video which not only helps the kids in recognizing the alphabet but also helps in pronouncing the different sounds made by the alphabet.

Here is why learning from a video is better.
• Visual processing
• Learning through demonstrations
• Contextualization
• Illustrations

Visual Processing:

The human brain, especially children’s, is dedicated more towards the visual processing. Since, the brain responds to visuals first, therefore, learning through videos help in grasping the idea (of what is being taught) better. Recalling and memorizing stuff from the videos and pictures (for kids) retains in mind for a longer duration of time, therefore it is always better to make children learn through videos and pictures first before you switch to copy and pencil.

Learning through demonstrations:

Learning for children through demonstrations is always better. Since it requires just watching and paying attention rather than making any effort, therefore, it is better to make children learn this way.

So how can you teach your child the letter J. Let’s start.
1. First you show them the letter written somewhere.
J
2. Then you show them how it is written.
• Draw the first line
• Then draw the curve at the end of this line to make the shape of J.
Use a chalk or a pencil or any colorful crayon or marker to make this more interesting to the kid.
3. Then you need to teach the kid the sound of J.
• J sounds as ‘Jeh’, which is the sound in Jam.
Repeat the sounds again and again to the kid so that he/she is well able to make out the difference between both the sounds.
The kid will be best able to learn when it is taught with real examples. The things that the kid has seen and knows the name of but does not know that it is actually from the alphabets.
So what examples can you give? Let me help you out.
1. For the sound ‘Jeh’, as in JAM.

Examples:
• Jeep
• Joker
• Juice
• Jog
• Jeans
• Jug
You can show pictures alongside these words so that the kid understands better what he/she is reading about. It would make things much easier for the kid. The more interesting it would be, the faster the kind would learn.

Well, if you do agree with us then don’t wait and simply make your little one watch online videos about construction workers. We can bet on it that with a little effort, you will see the improvement. Also, don’t forget to teach the rules and ethics about dealing with these workers.

13 American Colonies | US History | Kids Academy

A colony is a place where people from other countries have settled outside their home country and this place is governed by their home country. By the mid-1700s England had set up 13 colonies along the East Coast of America.
There were three groups of colonies of the US-based on the way people lived in these colonies.

Northeast
Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts were the colonies in the northeast. Here people came from England mostly for religious freedom. However, living conditions here were tough. The soil was rocky, and the climate was cold hence cultivation was not an option for them. So, they switched to seafood and become sailors. Their ships were made from lumber in the area.

Middle colonies
New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware were the home to Germans, Irish and Dutch. The weather conditions were better here and many crops such as wheat were grown here.

Southern colonies
Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, made up the southern colonies. The climate here was much warmer and had really good soil which helped them to grow all sorts of crops. Their economy was based on agriculture.
One thing common in all these colonies was the slavery of black men. They suffered harsh living conditions and extreme slavery in all the colonies. Eventually, these 13 American colonies became 13 states and now exist as individual states in America.

1. First, you show them the letter written somewhere.
M

2. Then you show them how it is written.
• Draw the first line
• Then draw the first diagonal.
• Again, you move up diagonally
• And lastly the straight line

3. Help the kid to write it
The kid will not start writing on his own. First, you will have to help the kid to understand the process of writing. You can use tracing books in which alphabets are written in dots and the kid can trace on these dots to learn the alphabet. In the beginning, you will have to hold the kids’ hand and write along with him. Let the kid take some time. As he writes more and more he will gradually start learning and after some time he will start writing on his own without dots.

Use chalk or a pencil or any colorful crayon or marker to make learning easy the alphabet easier and more interesting to the kid. The more the kid enjoys the learning process, the better/she will learn.

4. Then you need to teach the kid the sound of M.
Learning the sound of the alphabet is very important to understand it completely. It is very important for the kid to know how every alphabet sounds like and how he should be pronouncing it. Only then he will be able to distinguish between all the alphabets and understand their sounds in learning words, a lesson that will come later in their books.

Now, ‘M’ has the sound ‘meh’ as in ‘moon’.
So what examples can you give? Let me help you out.

1. For the sound ‘meh’

Examples:
• moo
• monkey
• map
• mirror
• mouse

Using some pictures with the words will helps the kid to relate and learn better. This is important for the kid to have real objects associated with words so that the words do not remain just hypothetical for them.

So, this was just a small lesson for leaning the letter M for kids. It will help your kid to learn the alphabet.

Letter Y: yellow, yak, yo-yo, yolk, yam, yarn, yawn, and yard - Phonics for Kids | Learn the Alphabet | Kids Academy

Phonics teaches learners that letters represent the sounds in the English language. Phonics provides the tools needed to read and spell words correctly. To be successful in phonics, a solid foundation of learning the alphabet and each letter’s sound is essential.

To begin young learners must first learn how to identify each letter. Then the student learns that each letter has one or more sounds. The letters put together to form words. Reading words phonetically allows children to decode unfamiliar words independently.

Children that read words primarily by sounding them out read more at an earlier age, read more fluently and overall have reading success.
In preschool and kindergarten, children will learn the alphabet and each letter’s sound(s). Visual and auditory learners benefit from teaching materials such as fun videos to aid the learning process.

Children can learn about the letter Y with this fun and endearing video. The video opens with an animation that shows the letter Y and names and then draws the letter. The scene then changes to a group of yaks that are yawning. The student learns that the words “yawn” and “yak” begin with the letter Y and the Y sound repeats many times.

The student repeats the letter Y sound and each word. The snowy and cold scene shows a very cold cat that is shivering. The yak then knits a sweater for the poor cat and the viewer says the word “yarn” and repeats the Y sound. Learning about letter Y has never been so much fun!
The alphabet for kids is a necessary skill and lays the foundation for reading success.

This video identifies the letter Y, repeats the letter Y’s sound and gives the student three words that have the Y sound. The students associate the letter and it’s sound to the words in the video and remember the letter and sound more easily. This video is a great tool to learn phonics in the school or home classroom.

Social Studies for Kids

If your child is now growing up and has started going to school then along with teaching him addition, subtraction, and multiplication, etc, you need to teach him about the laws of the country, his rights and responsibilities too. You see, it’s all about creating a strong base of your child so that he turns out to be a good citizen of his country.

Now, as a parent, you’d definitely know what laws are, why you need to follow them and what are your responsibilities towards your country but teaching what you know to your child can be a little daunting because these little ones are new to these things and they are curious so they might end up questioning you a lot.

The point is that there are certain things you need to do to teach your kids about the laws, rights, and responsibilities, etc. You can make them watch different Youtube videos, you can use textbooks and the best way to teach your kids about their rights and responsibilities is to come up with different stories that have a moral in the end. You see, kids love listening to stories and this is what you can use to teach them about their country.

Your kid should know that a law is basically a code of conduct that a country follows and every citizen is supposed to follow that code of conduct. Your kid should know that he has certain responsibilities towards his nation and he should also know his rights as a citizen. Teaching your kids all of this is imperative if you really want him to grow into a responsible person.

English Alphabet for Kids | Letter O | Kids Academy

If your child is now old enough to start learning alphabets and if you want to make this daunting process easier for yourself then yes, you are on the right page at the moment. You see, telling your children about alphabets and explaining them the sound and the use of the alphabets is quite a difficult task and honestly, mere textbooks won’t work.

What you need to do is to make the learning process a little more fun for your child so that he can actively participate in it and learn quickly.

For example, when it comes to the word “O” what you can do is that you can cut the letter “O” on a card paper (make sure that it’s big enough that it can fit your head), you then can wear the letter “O” on your head and play a game with your child like ‘hey! I am Mr. O”.

There’s just so much more you can do to teach your child different alphabets. The best way is to get a book of the letter “O” and the words that start with “O”. Your little one should know how the letters look like but most importantly, he should know how it sounds.

Now, as far as the sound of the letter “o” is concerned, well, you obviously need to use your vocals for that and if you want to learn the process to be even quicker then just simply head to Youtube and search for different lessons on the letter “O”.

The visuals will attract your child so he will automatically listen to what’s being said in the video and well, these online teachers are professional people so they know how to attract a child and make him learn something.

Let’s learn about recycling. Recycling is a process that involves improving disposable things. Or, it is a process to turn used waste and materials into useful products. The concept of recycling allows us to make our environment clean, as it keeps the collection of harmful bottles and materials at a minimum.

In other terms, if you think about what is recycling—it is a process that involves converting waste and useless materials into something useful, which could be used for later purposes.

We should encourage recycling in our society, as it is responsible for keeping the environment free from any harmful materials, which cannot be decomposed into a natural landfill.
Kids should know about recycling so they could take a step forward to make the environment clean.

A majority of the recyclable items include; bottles, wrappers, plastic containers, etc.

• Image
• if

2. For the sound ‘ai’, as in ivy.

Examples:
• Ice
• Icycle
• Idea
• Ideal
• Identical

Use some pictures when you are teaching the kind words, it helps them to relate and learn better. When the kid is able to relate the word that he is learning with some real object it remains in their memory and is better for learning otherwise the words will always remain hypothetical in the kid’s brain.

So, this was just a small lesson for leaning the letter I for kids. If you want your kid to learn better to be patient with their mistakes and make it a colorful and fun experience for the kid.

Saving Earth's Resources | How to Conserve Natural Resources: Water, Air, and Land

Yes, there’s no doubt in the fact that you are supposed to teach your little one everything about maths and science and geography, etc but what’s more important is to educate your child about saving the Earth’s resources because this is something that will come in handy to them once they start growing up.

You see, conservation of natural resources should be more of a part of ethics. Like, your kid is supposed to know that he shouldn’t run the tap while he is brushing his teeth because that way he will be wasting water. On the other hand, your little one should be educated about how he can make the Earth a cleaner place to live in by throwing the garbage in the bins instead of on the roads and streets.

Your child must also be educated on keeping the air clean by preventing air pollution and the causes of air pollution. Long story short, your little one must know about saving Earth’s resources once you start teaching him the other basics of maths, English and other subjects. The best part is that you can make it fun for your child to learn about how to conserve natural resources. For starters, you can make him watch online Youtube tutorials, you can opt for online courses and you can even play different games and read stories to fit the concept in your little one’s brain that he/she is supposed to be a good citizen and add to the Earth’s development.

One of the best ways to teach your child about conserving the natural resources is to buy him a bike and then show him the benefits of opting for a bike instead of a car. You see, these small things and these small practical examples will add a lot to his brain and he will hence understand how the conservation occurs in the first place.

3 Branches of Government | Kids Educational Video | Kids Academy

There is a total of three branches of the government and kids are supposed to know what these branches are in detail and how they work because this is a part of the basic knowledge about a country that everyone must know.

The three parts are;

● The Executive
● The Legislative
● The Judiciary

The Executive:
The executive part of the government is based on the President of the country and 5000,000 workers. All the laws that are made by the Legislative branch are enforced by the President. On the other the President is elected by the citizens of the United States, the age of the President must be 18 or above.

The Legislative:
There are a lot of educational videos for toddlers on the internet where you can learn about the Legislative easily. The Legislative is also known as the Congress and the Congress is further divided into two parts, the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The Judiciary:
The 9 Justices and the Supreme court are together called the Judiciary. There are judges in this case who interpret the laws as per the Constitution.

This is everything kids learn about the government system. For more clarification, you should opt for Youtube videos as that would be a better approach and your kid will even start learning real quick. So, now without wasting any more time, first teach your little one the basics and the move towards the videos to give him some proper knowledge about how the government works.

Place Values are a very fundamental concept in mathematics. The number system in our world is quite complex for kids. Therefore, it is essential to teach them the basics of exchange, trading, position, and value of numbers. The teaching of tens ones and hundreds forms the basis for more complex arithmetic problems. At the beginning of 2nd grade, kids are usually given the concept of ones and tens. After a while, they move a step further to place value of hundreds.
Place value can be taught in several ways. But it is important to make the teaching interesting for the kids. One basic strategy of teaching place value hundreds is as follows:
1. Check the Concept of Ones and Tens

Write a 2 digit number on the board or distribute some poker chips or any colored inanimate objects among students (it is better if you use the objects previously used for teaching ones and tens), and ask the students to identify the tens place and ones place in the written number. If you are using objects to teach then ask the kids how they can trade ones for tens.
When you are sure that they know the place values of ones and tens clearly, you can start teaching the place value of a hundred.

2. Write Hundred on the White Board or Give Them the Third Set of Colored Objects

Tell kids how to skip count in the forms of 10, 20, 30…… 90. Once they start skip counting, write a 3 digit number on the board and ask them for its place values. Now tell them how to trade tens for hundreds.
Again it will be helpful to give them the third set of colored objects and label them as value hundreds than ask the kids to trade them for tens.

3. Start Playing and Asking Questions

Now is the right time to start playing games of 3 digit numbers. Ask the kids simple questions of how they will add or subtract the 3 digit numbers. Cement the concept of place value hundreds in their brains using such small games.

Learn to Read for Kids | Identify Individual Words | Reading for Preschool and Kindergarten

Reading forms a very important part of the child’s initial academics. It is also a very difficult lesson for kids and mostly it is seen that kids struggle with it. However, if it is made easy and everything is explained to the kid in an easy way this can also become a very easy and a very interesting lesson.

It is important for teachers and parents to know that each kid is different, and each kid takes a different amount of time to grasp a concept. Therefore, putting pressure on the kid will not help him/her to get any better.

Now how can you help the kid to read fluently? There are some simple tips and tricks that you can follow to make reading for preschool and kindergarten kids easy.

1. Practice makes a man perfect
Read with your kid as much as you can. Be patient and don’t expect the child to start reading just after a few readings. With more and more practice the kid will slowly start understanding the sounds and alphabets and how they are working together. Start with small words.

2. Don’t burden the child
It is important the kid does not feel too much pressurized. If you burden the kid with a new difficult word every day it would become very difficult for him/her to cope up with it. So, take things slowly let the kid get familiarized with some words and then move forward.

3. Read what the kid likes
It’s better than you read a storybook that the kid likes, it would create more interest in the child and he would be more curious to read and understand what his/her favorite characters are saying. It would enhance the learning process.

4. Encourage participation
Encourage the kid to participate in the process and read with you. Ask questions while reading for example if you are reading a story with a dog in it, every once in a while, ask ‘so where is the dog?’. This will keep the child attentive and also, they will be better able to identify individual words.

So, these are some of the best ways in which you can learn to read for kids

__________________________________________________________________________________________________Kids Academy has brought plants to life for learners through this engaging animation. Learners will learn how amazing the different parts of a plant can be. Aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards, this video uses animation and key vocabulary to bring the world of plants to life.

Each plant has parts, just like people have different body parts. Each plant part serves a different purpose and does a different job. For example, most plants have leaves, those leaves are important to the survival of the plant.

The leaves absorb light from the sun. The plant then turns the sunlight into food through photosynthesis. The roots of a plant area strong and steady and grip onto the soil in order to keep it from falling over. The roots also act sort of like drinking straws, sucking up all of the water and nutrients from the soil. Stems carry the water and nutrients up to other parts of the plant. They also support the plant. Some plants even have ways of protecting themselves. They may have thorns or spikes that keep animals from eating them. Many plants grow flowers which turn into fruit. This fruit contains seeds. If buried in soil, seeds can sprout and grow into another plant! No one single part of a plant is more important than another. They all work together to keep the plant alive.
