The last one is the light energy which we can get from both natural (solar energy) and artificial (light bulbs) means. Light energy also changes the temperature on the planet Earth and is food for plants all over the globe. Amazing, right?

Inches, Feet and Yards - Estimating Length | Measurement for Kids | 2nd Grade Math

If there is a distance, we find the length of it. We want to know how far a thing is or what’s the length of it. Now length can be measured in three different terms, which are inches, feet, and yard. So, what are these inches, feet, and yards?

These are simply the terms in which we define the length of something. All of them are interrelated with each other.
These terms can be defined in terms of each other.

To put it simply, 12 inches=1 foot and 1 yard= 3 feet. Inch is the smallest term. An inch can be measured in terms of centimeters but that is another term to learn. Simply speaking the distance between your thumb to your knuckle is about 1 inch. The bottle cap is also about 1 inch. So, inch is a very small unit.

These terms help to measure the length and distances. These are very basic measuring terms that the kid must know about in their initial maths lessons.

Learning the names of colors and correctly identifying colors is one of the first academic skills that young preschoolers and kindergarteners learn. When children learn to name colors, they effectively describe objects in their environment. But knowing colors is more than that. When children learn colors, they can compare and contrast things in the child’s environment as well as use color to sort and classify objects.

The color videos from Kid’s Academy are perfect for teaching different colors. The videos are the appropriate length for young learners and simply explain what the different colors are and what the colors look like. Ask your student or child to name other foods that are orange, red, blue, green or yellow. Identify objects in the home and classroom and name their color. And children cannot resist painting and drawing with these colors. Older students learning to write and spell color words benefit from writing the color words learned from the videos too!

Identifying colors for children is fun and an important milestone in a child’s early learning. With these clips, children learn quickly to identify and name each color. Learn English Punctuation for Kids: Period, Exclamation Mark, Question Mark

English punctuation for kids is a very important grammar lesson. It forms the basics of sentence structure and its understanding. It is very important to learn English for the kid and for the kid to have a clear understanding of using the right punctuation marks in their sentences.

Beginning with the very basics, let's learn about the ending punctuations for kids in this lesson. Ending punctuations are the punctuations that are used at the end of the sentences. It helps to understand the meaning of the sentence, where the sentence is ending and what is the sentence trying to say.

There are three most common ending punctuation marks used:
1. Period(.)
2. A question mark(?)
3. An exclamation point(!)

Most of the sentences end with a period. It marks the end of the sentence. For example:

1. The car is red.
2. I have a book.
3. He is reading.
4. This is an apple.

Sentences which are enquiring about something and are asking a question end with a question mark. For example:

1. Is this your book?
2. Do you have a pen?
3. Are you Jack?
4. How old are you?

The question mark answers the following questions:

1. What?
2. Why?
3. Where?
4. Whom?
5. When?
6. How?

Another very commonly used ending punctuation mark is the exclamation point. It is used when the sentence is trying to express a feeling.

For example:

1. Wow, that car goes really fast!
2. I am going to a big party tonight!
3. I love my new shoes!
4. That is my favorite color!

See how these sentences portrayed some feelings of excitement and joy.

These early punctuation lessons are very important and the kid must have a strong grip on these in order to be good at the upcoming grammar.
