Hey friends! We are back with what will be our last K12 unboxing. Check out the 5th grade unboxing and all the materials you currently get. It’s a bit different than what Lucy received when she was in 5th grade a few years ago. Some parents may view K12 as taking an unbalanced approach when it comes to current politics. Some will like it and some won’t. There have been a lot of positive and negative changes. Stayed tuned to find out why we are leaving the program and when. We're so happy to be Christian homeschoolers and out of the rigidity of the K12 program.

Types of Sentences for Kids | Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative, and Exclamatory

Discover what the four types of sentences are with Oliver, Chloe, Bella, and Elvis, as they take you around the petting zoo. The declarative Oliver never stops making simple statements and doling out information, while the interrogative Chloe has a never-ending list of questions. The imperative Bella can’t stop commanding or requesting, and the Exclamatory Elvis is a hoot with his excited utterances. With loads of examples briskly hopping in from every nook and cranny of the petting zoo in this video, identifying the types of sentences or differentiating between them will no longer be a Herculean task for kids. Learn to use appropriate punctuation marks: a period for declarative sentences, a question mark for interrogative sentences, and an exclamation point for exclamatory sentences. Get on board right away, ‘coz there’s so much to do at the petting zoo!

When we tell a story, we must follow the right order - and to indicate this order of events, we can use sequence words. In this instructional video, Owen talks about these sequence words and gives an example of how to structure a story correctly, using them.

This video is part of a broader lesson plan that is aligned with CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.W.3: "Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, well-chosen details and well-structured event sequences."
