In this video, we will learn the basics of fractions and the different types.

Here I explain what they are and show a visualization of what they look like, and show how they are similar to many other waves we are familiar with.
Overall the wavefunction is a mathematical tool which keeps track of all of the properties of a quantum particle, and explains our observations of the probabilistic nature of where particles appear when we do experiments on them. From the wavefunction we can calculate all of the observables like position, momentum, energy or spin, by applying mathematical operators on it. So in quantum physics, the wavefunction encodes all of the information about the quantum system, and valid wavefunctions are solutions to the Schrodinger equation which I covered in my last video which you can watch here https://youtu.be/AR23uxZruhE

CORRECTION: The animation at 18:06 shows only the parallel polarization being transmitted, when in reality both parallel and perpendicular polarization light gets transmitted. Perpendicularly polarized light doesn't exhibit a Brester's angle so there's always both reflection and transmission when going from a high index of refraction material to a low index of refraction material.

This is the first Veritasium science video. It addresses one of the most fundamental concepts in science: the idea that all things are made of atoms, tiny particles that are in perpetual motion. They attract each other when a little distance apart and repel when squeezed together.
