From planes that lost parts mid-air and still landed safely to incredible engineering feats that changed aviation forever - these are the real stories that sound too wild to be true. Some of these moments pushed pilots, passengers, and machines to their absolute limits… and somehow, they made it through.

These K12-powered student-athletes aren’t afraid to give it their all—on the ice or in their online school. NCAA-accredited courses taught by certified teachers mean they’re doing more than skating by in their studies; they’re getting a personalized learning experience at their own pace. And the flexibility of logging into classes rink-side gives them more time to train individually and with the team.

K12 is proud to be part of this power play, setting them up for success as they pursue their collegiate hockey dreams. We can’t wait to cheer them on and see how far they go! Learn more about how K12 has been changing the rules of traditional school for 25 years: K12.com/25years

Learn to Play Chess | What is Stalemate? | Kids Academy

As you learn to play chess you should know that stalemate is another way of ending a game, apart from checkmate, it is a type of tie which means that the game will be the draw. No one wins. A stalemate happens when a player’s king is safe, and that player doesn’t have any moves to make.

It simply means that even if you can’t play any moves and your king is surrounded still the king is in such a position that it is safe from any attacks.

The opponent cannot attack your king and there is no way of capturing it. This brings the game to a draw condition. Neither of the players can make any move to win the game. This is called a stalemate, and it is one type of draw in chess. So that’s an easy way of learning how to play chess.

The Yakuza are members of a Japanese crime syndicate that were founded back in the 17th Century, during the mid-Edo period.
They very much see themselves as a Ninkyo Dantai, a ‘Chivalrous Organization’, that prides itself on tradition, family and maintaining a strict code of conduct.

"Voy a hacer senderismo."

07:19 Resumen y despedida.

Do you know the difference between a right and responsibility? In this video, you and your kids will learn that, while they may seem similar, rights and responsibilities are actually pretty different. There are many rights and responsibilities, and some of them differ among various communities.

A right is something every human being deserves, no matter who they are or where they live. For example, everyone deserves food and water, clothing, and more. Responsibilities come with rights. These are things that a person must do or think about that may have an effect on other people. The two concepts do connect.

You have the right to go to school. But it is your responsibility to get out of bed and actually attend. You have the right to healthy food, but it is your responsibility to be home for dinner when it's time to eat. Not everyone has the exact same rights and responsibilities, however. You may have the right to stay up late some nights. But there may be a rule where you have to be responsible for doing chores and homework every day or else you can't stay up.

We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about these two concepts! If you want even more information, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!
