The idea of the lone genius creating everything isn’t just misleading. It’s harmful and wrong. Innovation thrives when people work together, and rather than nice linear paths, new ideas come from chance events and unexpected connections. This video tells the story of one such invention, and offers a new idea about how new ideas are really born.

The ‘Battle of Bunker Hill’, which took place on June 17th 1775, was the first time New England soldiers faced the British army in a pitched battle during the American Revolution.
Fought outside of Boston on the Charlestown peninsula, the battle itself took place, in large part, on Breed’s Hill rather than nearby Bunker Hill.

GeoGebra for Differential Equations: A Game-Changer for Engineering Students? (Case Study)

Struggling with homogeneous differential equations? You're not alone. In this video, we explore a 2024 case study from the University of Sinú, Colombia, that tested GeoGebra as a solution. Discover how this free software helps engineering students visualize solutions, improve understanding, and solve problems faster.

*🔍 In this video, we cover:*
The common challenges students face with homogeneous reducible differential equations.
How GeoGebra was used in a real classroom setting to enhance learning.
The key advantages: Speed, accuracy, and powerful visualizations of solutions.
The honest limitations: Lack of step-by-step guides & mobile device issues.
Practical conclusions on integrating technology effectively into math education.

*📊 Study Details:*
Location: University of Sinú, Colombia
Semester: First Semester, 2024
Participants: 16 Engineering Students
Focus: Solving Homogeneous Reducible Differential Equations with GeoGebra

This research proves that tools like GeoGebra are most powerful when combined with traditional teaching to strengthen problem-solving skills. If you're a student or educator looking for innovative teaching strategies, this video is for you!

Using GeoGebra to Solve Homogeneous Reducible Differential Equations: A Case Study with Engineering Students in Colombia

Layman Abstract :
This study explored how engineering students at the University of Sinú, Colombia, use GeoGebra to solve homogeneous reducible differential equations. Sixteen students participated, with four interviewed in detail. Students found GeoGebra helpful for quickly and accurately solving equations and visualizing solutions, which improved understanding. However, they noted limitations, including lack of step-by-step guidance and challenges using mobile devices. Overall, GeoGebra is a valuable tool for learning differential equations when combined with strategies that support mathematical reasoning.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, the word ‘gambit’ is defined as ‘a clever action in a situation that is intended to achieve an advantage that usually involves taking a risk’.

During Operation Acid Gambit, a disastrous rescue mission that was only supposed to take four and a half minutes and be one of the opening operations of the 1989 US invasion of Panama, Delta Force found themselves in a situation so sticky that it was sheer luck, rather than tactical gambits, that got them out alive.

Ample data on English Learner (EL) student outcomes provide evidence of the steep challenge these students face in developing grade-level academic language and content knowledge. These data point to a critical question: are local schools and school districts using appropriate instructional program models to meet EL needs? While the effectiveness of specific instructional models for these students—such as dual language, transitional bilingual, and English-only approaches—have attracted the attention of researchers and policymakers, instructional programming actually provided by schools or school districts is often a mix of different models or approaches. For this reason, it is crucial that a range of stakeholders—including state and local education agency leaders, legislators, school board members, and community advocates—have a clear picture of what programs are offered to EL students and factors that might indicate whether they are appropriate and effective choices.

To improve understanding about the critical nature of the choices schools make with regard to EL instruction programs, MPI’s National Center on Immigrant Integration Policy released an issue brief, the second in an EL Insights series, that describes the goals and main features of common instructional models and key factors that often shape their selection and implementation by schools. In this webinar, the brief’s author, Julie Sugarman, discusses the key features of EL instructional models, how they are sometimes woven together to address language- and content-learning needs of students, and factors that can account for varied approaches within and across schools.

Other experts discuss state- and district-level approaches to supporting schools in implementing effective EL program models. They highlight the evolution of bilingual and dual language programming in Madison, Wisconsin, and New York State’s implementation of English as a New Language units of study as the foundation for more effective EL programming. Both speakers illustrate how, in order to improve the academic trajectories of EL students, ongoing reflection guided policy revisions and changes to the design and support of EL programs.

Students learn the different airplane parts, including wing, flap, aileron, fuselage, cockpit, propeller, spinner, engine, tail, rudder, elevator. Then they each build one of four different (provided) paper airplane (really, glider) designs with instructions, which they test in three trials, measuring flight distance and time. Then they design and build (fold, cut) a second paper airplane design of their own creation, which they also test for flight distance and time. They graph the collected class data. Analysis of these experiments with "model" airplanes and their results help them see and figure out what makes airplanes fly and what can be changed to influence the flying characteristics and performance of airplanes.

Hello friends! Welcome to a new Happy Learning video.
Today, we are going to learn about the importance of plants, their main characteristics and also, their classification. Presenting… The plant kingdom!
You already know that plants can’t move from one place to another, as you can see in these images, the great majority are held to the ground by roots, but they fulfill the vital functions of all living things: they are born, they grow, reproduce and die.
As you can see in these images, there are many types of plants, but… Do you know how many types there are? Well, according to scientists there are approximately 9 million different species. Some are gigantic, like this tree, that’s capable of producing shade for 100 people, at the same time! Others are tiny, like this miniscule flower… but although they may be different, they all have something in common… they are able to make their own food.
Plants don’t feed off other living creatures, like animals do, but they make their own food, thanks to photosynthesis, a process that transforms sunlight and inorganic matter in their surrounding, into food.
Photosynthesis is super important for plants, but for all living things too! Because in that process they release oxygen into the world… and without oxygen, none of us would be here today watching this video. Are plants important or what?
Plants were one of the first forms of life that appeared on earth, thanks to their capacity not to depend on other living creatures to survive.
Their most predominant colour is green, and this colour is called chlorophyll, an essential substance to perform photosynthesis.

PLANT CLASSIFICATION
As we said, there are many types of plants, and we can classify them in four large groups to get to know them better: algae, mosses, ferns and phanerogams.
Algae don’t have roots, stems or leaves. They live in water, both in rivers and seas, and they are the simplest plants.
Mosses are also simple plants. They live on solid ground but need a lot of humidity. They don’t have roots to absorb water in the ground because they live in very humid and bleak places.
Ferns are higher plants and their body is divided into roots, which is where they absorb water from the soil, stem, which is where the water circulates, and leaves, that grow upwards from the stem.
Phanerogams, despite their name, are the most common plants, because they reproduce through their flowers. They are higher plants and their bodies are divided into roots, stem and leaves. Trees are an example that belong to this group.
Well, now we know a bit more about plants and their importance towards all other living things. So you know that we need to take care of them, and respect them.
