Did you know that different parts of the world are called different things according to the areas properties and wildlife? In this video, you and your kids will learn about several types of habitats that are found all around the globe. You'll learn about the driest places, the wettest places, the coldest places, the tallest places, and more!

First up is grasslands. These areas are full of tall grass and not a lot of trees. You can find them on every continent except Antarctica. Types of grasslands include prairies and savannas. Deserts are next. Even though most people think deserts are always hot, this isn't actually true. Some are very cold. These places are defined as having very little rain or being incredibly dry. Not a lot of animals or plants can survive the desert habitat.

Next you'll learn about a few types of forests: rainforests, temperate forests, and coniferous forests. Rainforests receive rain all year around and are home to more animals than all the other habitats combined!. Temperate forests are ones with trees that lose their leaves in the winter or remain green all year around. Coniferous forests are the forests that have the tallest trees in the world. They can survive extremely cold temperatures.

Speaking of cold, mountain habitats are much cooler because they are so high up. They receive less oxygen. Polar regions are likewise extremely cold. In fact, they're the coldest places on Earth. There are only two polar regions—the Arctic at the top of the globe and the Antarctic at the bottom. Very few types of animals can live here, such as polar bears and whales.

Water habitats exist as well, both freshwater and saltwater bodies are home to habitats like coral reefs and oceans. Freshwater habitats can be found nearly anywhere in the world. Coral reefs are usually around tropical areas of the globe. The ocean is the largest animal habitat in the world. I bet you can guess why! And believe it or not, cities and farms are their own habitats as well.

Complete K12 essentials Youtube channel and Complete K12 Essentials.com was created to offer parents and teachers an online augmentation or alternative when public schools are not available. The need for standard curriculum that can be delivered via the internet became obvious during the pandemic of 2020. Teachers and school districts were left to create lesson plans and somehow connect with the students with very little time. The challenge was to give each child a method to connect with teachers and class mates to simulate a natural learning environment. Students learn the different airplane parts, including wing, flap, aileron, fuselage, cockpit, propeller, spinner, engine, tail, rudder, elevator. Then they each build one of four different (provided) paper airplane (really, glider) designs with instructions, which they test in three trials, measuring flight distance and time. Then they design and build (fold, cut) a second paper airplane design of their own creation, which they also test for flight distance and time. They graph the collected class data. Analysis of these experiments with "model" airplanes and their results help them see and figure out what makes airplanes fly and what can be changed to influence the flying characteristics and performance of airplanes.

What do you know about the country of Mexico? Did you know its official name is the United Mexican States? In All about Mexico for Kids, you and your students will learn a lot about the country's rich history. In fact, lots of really cool remnants of the past, such as ancient cities and pyramids. Lots of them are part of modern cities and towns.

Mexico's terrain is pretty diverse, from high mountains and plateaus to low coastal plains and deserts. Some parts are tropical, so the climate ranges from temperatures typical of deserts to those common to rainforests. The country borders Guatemala and Belize in the southeast and the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas in the north. It also touches the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea.

There are lots of different kinds of animals that live in this country. Mexico actually boasts the most reptiles than any other place in the world. If you visit Mexico, you might find jaguars, pumas, iguanas, lizards, monkeys, or parrots. Of course, it would depend where you are in the country since the habitats are diverse. In the nearby sea or ocean, you might see whales, manta rays, or manatees!

The history of this beautiful country is usually divided into three general periods: early, middle, and recent. The Early period included several ancient societies and civilizations, such as the Olmecs, Mayans, and Aztecs. The Olmecs were the first known society, which existed starting in 1200 BC. The Middle period lasted from around 1519 to 1810. In 1810, which marks the start of Mexico's recent history, a rebel leader and others collaborated to gain Mexico's independence.
