To understand the challenges of satellite construction, student teams design and create model spacecraft to protect vital components from the harsh conditions found on Mercury and Venus. They use slices of butter in plastic eggs to represent the internal data collection components of the spacecraft. To discover the strengths and weaknesses of their designs, they test their unique thermal protection systems in a planet simulation test box that provides higher temperature and pressure conditions.

Companies are organizations which dedicate themselves
to producing goods or services in exchange for a benefit,
or in other words, for money.
The goods are the products which the companies make.
Some companies make candy, clothes, books full of
stories, and there are companies which make cars. There
are loads of companies all dedicated in manufacturing all
sorts of different products!
If you look around you, all you see has been produced in a
company.
There are also companies which provide services, such as
the transport companies which take us from one place to
another, the hairdressers who don’t sell us anything but
cut our hair and brush it, giving us a service as well as
making us look preIy. Check out all these different hair
styles!
There are a great number of services offered by
companies.
To carry out these activities, companies need material and
human resources. The material resources are what the
companies need to manufacture or produce something.
For example, a bakery needs flour, ovens, utensils,
vehicles to deliver the bread to the clients etc, etc…
A company which produces fruit juice would need fruit, a
juice squeezer, refrigerators, packaging, and trucks for
transportation…
So as to create a product one needs many resources and
that is why we should never waste anything and we must
recycle the juice container for example.
The human resources are the people who work in the
companies. These people are the employees and
employers.
The employers are those who create a company, direct it
and make sure all is working correctly, besides they are
the ones who are risking their money.
The employees are the people who are working in the
company in exchange for a salary, from their pay sheet,
meaning money.
An enterprise´s spirit is one who plans projects and brings
them to life. If you want something, you can have it!
Well now we know what a company is all about. In the
next video we will learn more about different types of
companies.

Welcome our new video: Comparing Lengths | Tallest and Shortest | Kids Academy
Shapes and lengths are very important to learn for kids. It forms the basics of geometry for further studies. Comparing lengths are actually a very interesting lesson for kids because they love finding differences between things because it's just fun.
Now for this lesson, you would have to use some interesting and colorful pictures to make comparing for kids interesting.
So simply you will use different pictures of different objects like some flowers, cars, and other such pictures of different lengths. As the kid sees the pictures he/she will start to make the difference of lengths. So here you will make different categories of long, longer and longest.
You will see that kids are actually very intelligent when they have to make a difference in the lengths of things. You can also use objects from your house to make the concept even clear.
Just grab some toys and objects from around the house of different lengths and let the kid sort everything out based on its length.
It’s a fun lesson for kids.
Kids Academy, will help your child practice and apply basic math skills through fun puzzles and mini-games in our application.
Kids Academy will guide your little math explorer through intuitive lessons with the help of our professors. This App combines math and fun while mastering the basic Common Core Math Curriculum – math has never been so FUN until NOW.!

Learn to Play Chess | What is Pins? | Chess Tactics
What are the pins? The pin is amongst most common chess tactics. Pins happen when we are attacking a piece and a more valuable piece s revealed behind it.
Pins only happen in a straight line and for long-range pieces which means rooks, bishops and queens can make this move. Pawns, knights and kings can unfortunately not make this move.
It mostly happens when you attack a piece like a knight by a rook, but there is king behind this knight.
So, the knight is now pinned between a rook and the king. It cannot be moved because if the knight moves the king, which is the most valuable piece in chess, will be captured and it will be checkmate. So instantly you lose the game.
However, you need to play this move very carefully because you end up losing more points because when you capture through a pin you can put yourself in a threat by some other piece lying just there in position to capture your piece. So if you are teaching chess for kids beginners teach them to always be alert in chess.

This organic chemistry video tutorial provides a basic introduction to NMR spectroscopy. It explains the basic principles of a working nmr spectrometer. It discusses the alpha and beta spin states and how to calculate the operating frequency needed given thee strength of the applied magnetic field. NMR spectroscopy works with nuclei with odd number of protons or neutrons. These nuclei have a property called spin which can absorb radio frequency radiation when the appropriate magnetic field is applied to it.

Linear Algebra on Khan Academy: Have you ever wondered what the difference is between speed and velocity? Ever try to visualize in four dimensions or six or seven? Linear algebra describes things in two dimensions, but many of the concepts can be extended into three, four or more. Linear algebra implies two dimensional reasoning, however, the concepts covered in linear algebra provide the basis for multi-dimensional representations of mathematical reasoning. Matrices, vectors, vector spaces, transformations, eigenvectors/values all help us to visualize and understand multi dimensional concepts. This is an advanced course normally taken by science or engineering majors after taking at least two semesters of calculus (although calculus really isn't a prereq) so don't confuse this with regular high school algebra.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything
