The abacus predates the alphabet and the invention of glass, but its use can help modern day students increase their math proficiency and understanding. Ulrich Boser, the author of Learn Better, studied how the abacus requires decomposition -- a way of thinking about numbers and their pairs -- that is included in the common-core standards. Using an abacus helps students foster a mind-body connection, utilize their short term memory, and grow their confidence, all which help kids learn better. In this video, Boser, a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, challenges his daughters to solve math problems using a Japanese abacus. ____________________

AI Teaches Itself to Walk!
In this video an AI Warehouse agent named Albert learns how to walk to escape 5 rooms I created. The AI was trained using Deep Reinforcement Learning, a method of Machine Learning which involves rewarding the agent for doing something correctly, and punishing it for doing anything incorrectly. Albert's actions are controlled by a Neural Network that's updated after each attempt in order to try to give Albert more rewards and less punishments over time. Check the pinned comment for more information on how the AI was trained!

First Lady Melania Trump turned heads on Wednesday morning at the White House, but not for her usual high-class fashion statements.
On day two of the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit, Mrs. Trump was seen walking out with a humanoid robot built in the United States as she was prepared to speak to leaders from 45 nations and 28 best-in-class technology entities.
Like a scene out of a sci-fi movie, the robot named Figure 03 gave brief remarks and welcomed roundtable guests in their native languages.
"It's fair to state you're my first American-made humanoid guest in the White House," Melania quipped before joining leaders.

In which John Green teaches you how Russia evolved from a loose amalgamation of medieval principalities known as the Kievan Rus into the thriving democracy we know today. As you can imagine, there were a few bumps along the road. It turns out that our old friends the Mongols had quite a lot to do with unifying Russia. In yet another example of how surprisingly organized nomadic raiders can be, the Mongols brought the Kievan Rus together under a single leadership and concentrated power in Moscow. This set the stage for the various Ivans (the Great and the Terrible) to throw off the yoke and form a pan-Russian nation ruled by an autocratic leader. More than 500 years later, we still have autocratic leadership in Russia. All this, plus a rundown of some of our favorite atrocities of Ivan the Terrible, and a visit from Putin!

Teaching phonics for kids is easier with these instructional and fun videos from Kids Academy. Join the phonics superhero, Chris the Word Whiz, and learn more advanced phonics skills.
Join Chris and learn about word parts for kids. The word whiz carefully explains to students that if a word is divided into syllables, the words are easier to decode and read. Each syllable in a word has a vowel sound and the video explains the difference between words with open and closed syllables. Chris demonstrates a cool way to find out the number of syllables in a word by placing your hand under your chin. Say the word. Count how many times your chin moves down.
In another video, students learn about words with silent letters. Chris explains that some words don’t follow the phonics rules. Examples of these words include: knight, honest, climb and wrap. The word whiz superhero reads many examples of words with silent letters and quickly throws the words into “word jail” for not following the rules! Chris asks students to read words on their own as well.
Comprehending new words is easier if students know about prefixes. In the video about prefixes for kids, students learn about the common prefixes: re, un, bi, and dis. Children learn what each prefix means and how adding a prefix to a word changes the meaning of the word.
In addition to prefixes, the videos teach suffixes for Grade 2 students. Chris the Word Whiz, explains that suffixes are words parts added to the end of a word. Kids learn the common suffixes ful, less, ly, able. Our superhero explains what each suffix means and what the meanings of words are that have these suffixes. The videos include instruction on how adding suffixes sometimes change a verb to a noun and that you can add a prefix and a suffix to a word.
Letters for kids isn’t just about learning the names of letters in the alphabet. Silent letters, prefixes, suffixes, and syllables are challenging phonics skills. Clear up confusion on these concepts with exciting videos and Chris the Word Whiz!

The Bicycle: Great inventions that changed history.
Hello friends! Welcome to a new HAppy Learning Video! Today, in our section great inventions of history, we’re going to get to know… the bicycle.
The bicycle is one of the most fun means of transport there is! Also, it is very ecological, and very healthy! Since when we ride a bicycle, we do physical exercise!
But… do you know who, and when the bicycle was invented? No? Well, let’s find out!
The truth is, that alike many other inventions, the bicycle was invented in various phases and it was various people who intervened in its evolution until reaching the bicycle we know today!
Here you can see the first bicycle in history! It was invented by Karl Drais in 1817 but, it doesn’t look a lot like contemporary bikes, it didn’t have pedals and you had to push it with feet on the ground.
In 1861, the Frenchman Ernest Michaux thought of putting pedals on the front wheel, but because it didn’t balance correctly, people fell off and his idea didn’t succeed. But it was useful so in 1873, James Starley, an English inventor, would manufacture a bicycle with the front wheel a lot bigger than the back one. Although the falls from so high up were dangerous, he made it easier to drive them, so in 1873, Thomas Steven commenced the first trip around the world. He took three years to finish it.
In 1885, John Kemp Starley, James Starley’s nephew invented a safe bicycle. Because it had breaks, and was a lot lower, falls were less frequent and less dangerous. Exactly, it was more secure… he had created a contemporary bicycle. From this moment on, the bicycle became famous throughout the whole world. And it started to be used for Cirque shows, to travel or just to do sports. But… the bicycle’s history hasn’t ended, there are still new bikes being invented, like mountain bikes, race bikes, electric or some which won’t move no matter how fast you pedal, like at the gym… There are a lot of curious bicycles, like all of these… It’s clear that the bicycle is an invention which runs smoothly! So everyone let’s ride a bike!

What are you waiting for? Eclipses
Hello friends. In this educational video for kids we are going to learn about eclipses. There are two types of eclipses, a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse, but first of all, do you know what an eclipse is?
An eclipse occurs when an astronomical object is temporarily obscured. Sometimes the Earth is placed between the sun and the moon and other times the moon is situated between the Earth and the sun. These are eclipses… but let’s investigate it better.
The lunar eclipse is when the Earth is situated between the moon and the sun making the Earth block out the sun’s rays which would be shining on the moon, creating a shadow and darkening it. This phenomenon allows us to see the moon in a reddish color…almost as if it were bleeding.
Lunar eclipses are quite frequent and can be seen from any part of the world at night time. They last various hours and can be different types, though the most frequent ones are the partial lunar eclipse and the total lunar eclipse.
When there is an eclipse and it looks as if someone has taken a bite out of the moon, it is a partial eclipse, and when there is an eclipse and one can see the whole moon, it is a total eclipse. Easy don’t you think?
By the way, to observe a lunar eclipse one doesn’t need anything special, a normal telescope or binoculars would do.
Solar eclipses only occur when there is a new moon, and is seen when the moon is in between the Earth and the sun. The moon hides all the suns light or at least part of it.
Solar eclipses can be of different types: total, partial or annular.
A total solar eclipse is when the moon hides all of the suns light and the sun’s face disappears behind the moon. In the middle of the day, it would seem as if night has fallen. The sky darkens and stars appear. Many animals, think it’s night time and go to sleep, and nocturnal animals such as this owl, begin their day, actually their night, not understanding that in a short time the sun will reappear.
Partial solar eclipses occur when the moon comes between the Earth and the sun, but not completely, leaving part of the sun visible. The day becomes slightly darker and the sun resembles a cookie with a chunk missing.
An annular solar eclipse occurs when the moon hides only the middle part of the sun. It is seen as a black circle surrounding a bright ring. It looks like a ring, doesn’t it?
By the way and this is really important, it is very dangerous to observe solar eclipses without special eye protection. Please remember this as it is extremely harmful.
Well now we know a little bit more about eclipses…don’t you think it is fascinating learning new things?
Goodbye friends, we hope you enjoyed this educational video for children about eclipses. Don’t forget to subscribe to Happy Learning TV, so you don’t miss any of our videos.

An agricultural tech company with 110 Claude users woke up to mass suspension emails. No warning. No explanation. No response.
⚠️ WHAT HAPPENED
• 110 seats on Claude Team plan — ALL suspended overnight
• No admin notification beforehand
• No policy violation cited
• API account kept charging but locked admins out of billing
• Google Form appeal → radio silence for 2+ days
❌ 3 PROBLEMS
1. One user's behavior = entire org banned
2. No warning means you can't course-correct
3. No human response path — just a Google Form
✅ PROTECT YOURSELF
• Never rely on a single AI provider (have Codex/Gemini backup)
• Export important projects regularly
• Document your use cases (agriculture, defense, healthcare = higher risk)
• Know that Team plans have zero admin guardrails for individual seats
