In the second half of our look at the endocrine system, Hank discusses chemical homeostasis and hormone cascades. Specifically, he looks at the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis, or HPT axis, and all the ways your body can suffer when that system, or your hormones in general, get out of whack.

Q & A reptiles
Hello Happy friends, are you ready to learn?
I’m Sarah, and today, we’re going to play a Q.A game about reptiles.
Let’s start
Do you know what the word reptile means? Let’s look at three options
That they move with their tummy very close to the ground
That their body is covered in scales
That they have a very long tongue
Exactly! The word reptile meals that these animals move with their stomach touching the ground.
Reptiles always crawl when they’re moving, that means, that their tummy is touching, or very close to the ground, like this snake! Or this lizard… Or this crocodile! They also have their bodies covered in strong and resistant scales to protect themselves, and cold blood!
Well, now we know what the word Reptile means, but do you know how they reproduce?
They are oviparous, they are born from the eggs laid by their mothers… or…
They are viviparous, they are born from their mother’s womb.
Exactly! They are oviparous!
All reptiles are born from the eggs that their mothers have laid. When they develop and come out, they look exactly the same as their parents, but tiny. Here you can see miniature crocodiles, most of them are carnivores and some of them have venom in their teeth, like this snake.
The truth is that when reptiles are small, they are super cute, but when they are older… there are some that are very scary…
Don’t you think so?
Well, let’s go for the last question! Which one of these animals is a reptile?
A frog
A tortoise
I knew it! The tortoise!
Tortoises are reptiles, although lots of people get them confused with amphibians. As you can see in the images, tortoises have their body full of scales, they reproduce through eggs and although lots of them live in the water, they breathe through lungs.
-
It’s clear that tortoises are reptiles, Crystal clear?
I hope you’ve answered all questions correctly, but if you haven’t, it’s okay, the most important thing is that you’ve learnt!
Goodbye Happy Friends, See you next time!
I hope you’re always ready to learn!
Goodbyee!

Students test the insulation properties of different materials by timing how long it takes ice cubes to melt in the presence of various insulating materials. Students learn about the role that thermal insulation materials can play in reducing heat transfer by conduction, convection and radiation, as well as the design and implementation of insulating materials in construction and engineering.

Students investigate the idea of linear approximation. Students apply mathematical modeling, specifically linear approximation, to an already collected data set to make a prediction. In this lesson, students first engage in a warm-up that is not a perfectly linear data set, being exposed to this for the first time. Students take on the role as a packaging engineer to learn the process to apply linear approximation modeling: collecting data, creating a graph, drawing a line-of-fit, creating a model in the form of an equation, defining the model’s variables, and evaluating with the model. Students ultimately use their linear model to predict the net weight of cereal in grams contained by 260 square inches of cardboard packaging.

In this video, we dive into the newly released distilled DeepSeek models and demonstrate how to set them up with Open WebUI on the Jetson Nano. Despite its compact size, the DeepSeek R1 1.5B model delivers impressive performance with plenty of room to spare on the Jetson.
We’ll guide you through the installation process, followed by a series of tests, including a Python reasoning test. To provide context, we compare the DeepSeek R1 to the Mini Llama 3.1 1B model, showcasing their differences in performance and capabilities. For those seeking even more power, we also demonstrate how to set up and test the FP16 version of the DeepSeek R1 Distilled 1.5B Qwen model, running seamlessly in WebUI with an Ollama backend.
By the end of this video, you’ll have the knowledge and tools to set up and test a powerful yet efficient local reasoning model on your Jetson Nano.
