These math videos are designed to help teach yourself math or provide self-study math tools to assist when additional instruction is needed. Teaching math and learning math has changed the way many students learn in this virtual environment. Having on-demand math videos can provide math tutoring needed when children are not able to get help from their teachers after school hours or when trying to do math at home.

The library of math tutorials that I create can also be used as supplemental instructional material for homeschool math. Each full-length video comes with a subsequent knowledge check or math practice problems which serve as a virtual math topic worksheet to test your understanding of each skill. These videos can be paused to work out the problems on your own, then unpaused to check your answers. All of these videos can be found under the Knowledge Check playlist.

I also have a library of shorter videos (less than 1 minute in length - shorts) that are quick math tips and tricks on basic math topics. Some of these short math help videos include problems that you can work on yourself and submit your answers in the comments. They are all listed under my Math Tips and Tricks playlist.

Improved math is creating more videos every day to cover topics from 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, and 7th-grade math. The videos focus on fractions, basic math operations, geometry, and ratios but more topics are being added all the time. This week Craig continues our conversation on presidential powers by looking at those NOT found in the Constitution - implied or inherent powers. We’ll talk about how the President uses their power to negotiate executive agreements, recommend legislative initiatives, instate executive orders, impound funds, and claim executive privilege in order to get things done. Implied powers are kind of tough to tack down, as they aren’t really powers until they’re asserted, but once they are, most subsequent Presidents chose not to give them up. So we’ll try to cover those we’ve seen so far and talk a little bit about reactions to these sometimes controversial actions from the other branches of Congress.

Do you know how to calculate sales tax? In part six of our Financial Literacy for Kids series, you will learn how to do just that! Sales tax is an extra cost that is added to a product or service that you buy. The government uses sales tax money to pay for things, such as new roads and water lines.

Some states don't use a sales tax. Those states are Delaware, Alaska, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon. That means that if you want to buy something for $100, you only pay exactly $100, and no more. There are also states that don't charge sales tax on certain kinds of purchases, such as groceries and food or prescription medications.

Sales tax is calculated as a percentage of the purchase price of an item. Generally, the percentage is somewhere between 4% and 9%. Keep watching to follow along with the example to figure out how to calculate sales tax. You will also learn a cool trick for calculating sales tax easily!

First lady Jill Biden welcomed the national and state teachers of the year to the White House on Thursday for the first state dinner of its kind.

While traditional state dinners honor visiting heads of state, this one recognized the award-winning teachers—including Missy Testerman, the 2024 National Teacher of the Year and an English-as-a-second-language teacher in Tennessee—for the work they do every day in the classroom. Student teams investigate the properties of electromagnets. They create their own small electromagnets and experiment with ways to change their strength to pick up more paperclips. Students learn about ways that engineers use electromagnets in everyday applications.
