Sedimentary Rocks are rocks formed from rock fragments and organic matter.
Sedimentary rocks are formed from pre-existing rocks or pieces of once-living organisms. They form from deposits that accumulate on the Earth's surface or under the ocean. The particles that form a sedimentary rock are called sediment and may be composed of minerals or organic matter.

A bacteria cell is classified as a prokaryotic cell because it does not have a nucleus or membrane-bound organelles.
A bacteria cell does have genetic material, but it is not organized in a nucleus.

What is the pH scale? The letters pH stand for the potential of hydrogen and is a measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions in a water-based substance?
pH is organized into a scale of acids and bases with neutral. substances right in the middle
The range goes from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. pHs of less than 7 indicate acidity, whereas a pH of greater than 7 indicates a base.
pH is also organized by color. Red usually indicates an acid and blue usually represents a base.
In the video, I cover many pH examples including examples of acids you find around you and examples of bases.
Quantitative data can be divided into two types, discrete and continuous data.In this video you will learn the differences between discrete and continuous data.

Welcome to MooMooMath where we upload a new Math video everyday.
In this video I would like to talk about two types of quantitative data.
Discrete and Continuous
Discrete data is data that has distinguishable spaces between values.
Often it is data that is counted.
On a graph the ordered pairs are at specific locations, so the graph is not connected, but only points
Some examples of discrete data include,
Dogs
People
Tickets you have for a show.
Continuous data is data that falls on a continuum.
On a graph it is all of the points, and the points in between.
It is data that can be measured as finely as possible.
It is often a physical measure.
Discreet data will often will contain fractions or decimals.
Some examples of continuous data include,
Time
Age
Height
Weight
Let's look at two examples and see the differences between these types of data.
Family Members
Discrete 5 family members
Continuous: Range between 5 feet and 6 feet tall
Books, books on your book shelf.
The discreet data is that you have 6 books on your bookshelf.
Continuous data is that they range in height from 15 to 30 cm in length

Number of cows on a farm yes discrete
Age of the cows on the farm continuous
Number of points scored in a game. discrete
Amount of oxygen in the atmosphere continuous
Temperature is continuous data
Number text messages sent today discrete

Learn about 1st class levers,2nd class levers, and 3rd class levers.
Levers are simple machines that are found in many tools you use at work and at home.
A first-class lever has the fulcrum in the middle and the load and effort on each side of the fulcrum.
2nd class levers have the fulcrum on one end and the load in between the fulcrum and the force.
A third class lever has the force in between the fulcrum and the load.
**** After listening to feedback from the comments the way I had the arrows it is confusing. I had the arrow on the load in the direction that it is acting on the load. This seems confusing. Also, I have a typo at the hammer and label it a 2nd class lever. I describe it as a 3rd class but label it a 2nd class. Sorry for the mistake.
As a result I created a new video, and added a nice mnemonic device to help memorize the different types.

You may have to wear glasses. How do they work? When you are farsighted ( hyperopia) objects far away are clear but object close appear blurry. This type of problem can be fixed with a convex lens. A concave lens is used to fix the opposite problem created when you are nearsighted.

x-linked inheritance and male pattern baldness.
An x-linked trait which is a sex linked trait is a trait found on the x chromosome.
Females have two x chromosomes and males have an x and a y chromosome.
The x chromosome has almost 800 genes compared to only around 70 found on the y chromosome.
Let’s look at the Punnett Square for another x-linked disease, hemophilia
In this example, the father has the disease and the mother is a carrier.
With a recessive x-linked disease a female can be a carrier
Have the disease, or not have the disease.
Males can only have the disease or not.
Let’s go back to the Punnett square and their offspring.
This female is a carrier, this female has the disease, this male has not inherited the disease and this male has hemophilia.
Notice the Punnett square works similar to a monohybrid cross except the y is neither dominant or recessive. I will call the y chromosome neutral
Because males either have the disease or not, they have a greater chance of inheriting an x-linked trait.
So there you go, traits found on the x chromosome.
As the moon rotates around the earth it travels through phases.
The alignment of the sun, earth, and moon create the phases.
I use an orrery to explain the moon's alignment during,
new moon, waxing crescent, ist quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, last quarter, waning crescent, and back to new moon.
The sidereal period is 27.3 and the moon is measured against stars.
The synodic period is 29.5 days and the moon is measured against the sun.

Layers of the Earth based on chemical composition and physical properties
Earth can be divided into three layers based on chemical composition: the crust, the mantle,
and the core.
Earth is also divided into layers based on physical
properties, such as whether the layer is solid or liquid.
The five physical layers are the lithosphere, asthenosphere,
mesosphere, outer core, and inner core.
Waves transfer energy without transporting matter. Waves are formed from vibrations and many travels through a medium. Light and radio waves do not need a medium.
Mechanical waves need a medium to pass through and I focus on two types, transverse waves, and longitudinal waves which are also called compressional waves.

The Phosphorus Cycle is essential for life on Earth. It is considered a biogeochemical cycle.
In the video, I cover the phosphorus cycle steps.
Phosphorus is not found in the atmosphere but is found in rocks and is released by weathering.
Plants and animals absorb the phosphorus that is washed into the soil.
Eventually, the phosphorus is washed into sediment that is compressed into rock.

The kingdom Animalia comprises of most of the organisms we face daily. Your pet dog belongs to the kingdom, along with snakes, frogs, cats, and humans.
There is a huge variety of creatures in this kingdom, but animals have these common characteristics.
All animals are eukaryotes this means the have a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles.
All animals are multicellular
All are heterotrophs

Vertebrates which have a backbone and invertebrates that do not.
Invertebrates don't have a backbone or spine.
They include your sponges, cnidarians,several types of worms, mollusks, arthropods, echinoderms starfish,sea cucumber,sea urchins
Most of the animals on the planet are invertebrates.
Vertebrates have a backbone. Examples include,
Lancelets,lampreys,various kinds fish,amphibians,reptiles,birds, and mammals.
Animals are found on every continent and also have adaptations that help them survive.

Mesozoic EraIn this video I would like to talk about the Mesozoic era on the geologic time scale.
The Mesozoic era is part of the Phanerozoic Eon along with the Paleozoic and Cenozoic eras.
Mesozoic means “middle animals” and is a time of rapid change.
This era has also been called the age of reptiles and age of dinosaurs
The Mesozoic era was roughly 65 million years to 250 million years ago.
Let’s hit several highlights of this era
The Mesozoic era began after a mass extinction.
The shape of the continents looked different. At the beginning of this era, there was a super
Continent called Pangea. Over time this supercontinent broke apart and the continents started drifting apart.
The climate was warmer than today
The first mammals appear but are very small and they don’t begin to thrive until the Cenozoic era.
Dinosaurs also appear and begin to scatter and prosper.
The dinosaur population peaks during this era.
However, at the end of this era, the dinosaurs die off
The first birds appear and begin to scatter throughout the world.
The dominant plant is a cone-bearing tree and plants
At the end of this era, flowering plants begin to appear
So there we go the Mesozoic era,

In the video, I include description of convergent boundaries. There are three types of convergent boundaries, continental to continental, oceanic to continental, and oceanic to oceanic.
Divergent boundaries are when lithospheric plates move away from each other.
