Most of us love animals but also eat meat. Unfortunately, most animals we eat live in truly horrible conditions. We don’t torture them for better meat, just for cheaper meat. If we all paid just a bit more, we could avoid most animal suffering – often just for a few cents per meal. What would it truly cost us to avoid animal torture and still eat meat?

Visit http://www.3minutemaths.co.uk for quick reminder High School GCSE mathematics videos.
This video is all about solving algebraic quadratic fractions and forms part of the playlist on solving algebra fractions. I've also added to the playlist on GCSE higher revision.
The question is aimed at around level 7 GCSE and you need confidence in dealing with fractions and factorising:
1/x - 10/3x = 1/9
or 1 over x minus 10 over 3x equals one over nine
I hope the video helps and please do leave a comment - thanks!

Friends make life good. They provide the scaffolding that makes it not just bearable but fun. They give us a sense of meaning and purpose and are a source of security, self esteem and happiness. Almost nothing predicts how happy you will be as how connected you feel and a lack of social connection is associated with a number of diseases and a shorter life.
But maybe you have scrolled through your phone, unsure who to call to go to a movie with, to celebrate with or ask for comfort. You may realize that you don’t have enough friends and feel lonely. And it is not just you. Disconnectedness and loneliness are widespread.
Many people want more close friends but don’t know how to get them.

Song Lyrics:
Look at all the colors I can see!
I see big red apples in the tree.
I can see my yellow cat,
I can see my big blue hat.
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!
Look at all the colors I can see!
I can see green leaves up in the tree.
I can see my big orange ball,
Purple flowers by the wall.
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!
Look at all the colors I can see!
I can see the brown trunk of the tree.
I see white clouds in the sky,
And a blackbird flying by.
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!
(Spoken)
Red and yellow make orange.
Yellow and blue make green.
Blue and red make purple.
Red and white make pink.
White and black make gray.
All the colors make brown!
Look at all the colors I can see!
Now I see gray rain clouds by the tree.
If we get a few rain showers,
Then I'll see big bright pink flowers.
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!
I see colors of the rainbow
in the world that's all around me,
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!

We’re at Mildred’s Lane, a 96-acre site in rural Pennsylvania founded by J. Morgan Puett. Mildred’s Lane is an experiment in living - it's a space where Morgan and her friends collaborate on projects, practice creative domestication, and pay closer attention to every aspect of daily life. Her assignment asks you to do the same by playing a game of Scramble Scrabble Dinner.
INSTRUCTIONS - SCRAMBLE SCRABBLE DINNER
1) Find a nice cloth and sharpie pens for writing.
2) Gather 2 - 6 people. Each player writes their name on the cloth and makes a list from the letters of their name of food items and ways of preparing food.
3) Play a scrabble game with each player taking turns playing a word from their list, rotating the cloth as you go.
4) Keep adding words until you have a combination of ingredients and ways of preparation and all agree a dish is formed. Avoid the expected and embrace oddity. Sketch the dishes as they emerge.
5) Gather your ingredients and make the meal. Prepare and present it artfully.
6) Document the process with photos, video, drawings, or however you like, and share them on your social media platform of choice with #theartassignment.
Find out more about The Art Assignment and how to submit your response: http://theartassignment.com/
Educational video for children to learn about the characteristics and fun facts related to lions, elephants and giraffes. Giraffes are vertebrate and herbivorous animals, they eat tree leaves that they find in their habitat. They are the tallest land mammals in the world. Elephants eat roots, leaves and some tree bark. Lions are the fiercest mammals despite the fact that they can sleep up to 20 hours a day.
This video is an interesting and useful resource for children to learn interesting facts about the animals of the Savannah, including where they live and what they eat. It is an excellent video for early childhood education.

Today, FINALLY, Craig is going to talk about Free Speech! Now, free speech is so important because it not only allows you to critique the government, but it also protects you from the government. But it's essential to remember that not ALL speech is protected equally under the First Amendment, and just because you have a right to free speech doesn't mean your employer, for instance, can't fire you for something you say (unless your work for the government and then things get a bit more complicated). So we'll take a look at a couple significant Supreme Court cases that have gotten us to our current definition of free speech, and we'll also discuss some of the more controversial aspects of free speech - like hate speech.

Now that we’ve left behind the philosophy of religion, it’s time to start exploring what other ways might exist to find meaning in the world. Today we explore essentialism and its response: existentialism. We’ll also learn about Jean-Paul Sartre and his ideas about how to find meaning in a meaningless world.

All of the sounds or handshapes in a language can be pronounced differently depending on the context, but in different languages, these differences may be significant, or not. The study of these patterns and variations is known as phonology. In this episode of Crash Course Linguistics, we’ll learn all about phonology and the different phonological systems we see in different languages, and we’ll begin to retrain our brains in order to gain a better understanding and appreciation for phonological patterns.

In order to understand how we study the universe, we need to talk a little bit about light. Light is a form of energy. Its wavelength tells us its energy and color. Spectroscopy allows us to analyze those colors and determine an object’s temperature, density, spin, motion, and chemical composition.

Weathering breaks down rocks and creates sediments which become the raw materials for other rocks and the formation of our soils. And we call the process of moving that sediment erosion. In today's episode, we're just going to focus on the weathering part. We'll discuss mechanical, chemical, and biological weathering and take you on a tour of some of the landscapes they help shape from landslides and sinkholes to caves!
