Towns and Cities - Learn the Difference | Social Studies for Preschool & Kindergarten | Kids Academy

Let’s learn about the difference between towns and cities. It is a very basic concept that needs to be given to kids and the kids must understand the concept very clearly otherwise they will just remain confused for a very long time in their life about the difference between town and city.

So, to avoid this let’s make a simple tutorial to help you make this learning easier for the kid.

Town

A town is a place where people live. It is smaller than a city. There are not a lot of people in town and the buildings are relatively less and smaller. It is not as busy as a city and there is lesser traffic in a town. In a town, you will find small houses surrounded by grassy fields or farms giving a very peaceful look.

Things that you might see around a town include farms, cottages, less traffic on narrow roads. Towns are located outside the city area where there is a lesser population and the houses are made beautifully with greenery around them.

City

A city is bigger and a busier area. People live in small apartments buildings and very few people live in houses. It has very high traffic and you will hardly see any farms around. The population of a city is higher than in a town. Many people travel from nearby towns to cities for work.

Cities remain busy all day and all night, for example, New York is called the city that never sleeps as it is always busy either it is day or night. You might not find a city as peaceful as a town.

Here’s a quick video to help with the preterite of some -IR stem-changing verbs that change from (e-ie) and (e-i) in the present tense. The Preterite is a verb tense in Spanish used to talk about actions that happened in the past and have already ended. And stem-changing verbs have an additional change in their stem (or part before the -ar, -er, -ir).

What is a graphic organizer? In this video for kids, your students or kids will learn about several types of graphic organizers that they can use to take notes or organize information. They are likely very familiar with Venn diagrams, which are easy to create and understand. Venn diagrams are an excellent way to compare and contrast information.

But what about when you want to simply make connections or show a chain of events or sequence? There are plenty other types of organizers that allow us to evaluate things differently. One is a circle map, which helps you define things. You could write a main idea, such as sharks, and then write what you already know and what new information you learn. Similar to the circle map, another type is a prior knowledge chart. The main topic is in the center. The outer circles can include new information, things you would like to know, or things you already know.

Text connects help you better recall information you have read. Chain or sequence of events organizers allow you to show different steps in a process, or the chain of events that lead to a discovery. You can organize them in different ways as well. The last organizer we discuss is main idea and details, which works really well for nonfiction passages. You can write the main ideas from different paragraphs then write out their supporting details.

This biology video tutorial provides a basic introduction into the four levels of protein structure - primary, secondary, tertiary and quarternary structure. The primary structure of a protein is based on the sequence of amino acids. The secondary structure is based on localized shapes such as the alpha helix or the beta pleated sheet. In this video your kids will learn all about Climates, different kinds of weather, and the climate zones all over the world. The world is a vast place and every where has a little different climate and weather. In this video we learn how climate is a country's normal weather over a LONG period of time whereas weather can change from week to week or day to day.

There are three main kinds of climates for kids to learn about, which are: Arctic Climate, Temperate Climate, and Tropical Climate. In this video we will learn about important aspects of these climates, where they are located, which kind of live exists in each, and what are the specific weather patterns.
