Your heart pumps blood throughout your body.
Blood helps keep us alive by transporting oxygen to the cells, removing carbon dioxide, fighting disease, and carrying important nutrients that your body needs.
Your heart has four chambers. Your top chambers are called atriums, and the lower chambers are ventricles.
Blood travels to the lungs by the pulmonary arteries and back to the heart by the pulmonary veins.

The MAD is the average distance of all of the elements in a data set from the mean of the same data set
You can think of it as how far each piece of information is from the average
If you look at MAD you have the mean which is the average, the absolute value, and deviation.
The MAD indicates how spread out your data set is.
A large MAD indicates a data set more spread out relative to the mean.
A small MAD indicates a data set less spread out relative to the mean.

Let's learn about an important yet often overlooked organelle called the cytoskeleton.
As the name implies it is the skeleton of the cell. the cytoskeleton of a cell is a network of filaments running throughout the cell. The cytoskeleton has several different jobs in the cell It helps provide support much like your skeleton provides support It provides tracks or highways for the movement of vesicles and other objects in the cell helps pull the chromosomes apart during mitosis and even helps the cell move. Some single-cell organisms move using cilia made up of cytoskeleton filament.

Malleability and Ductility-- Malleability and Ductility
Malleability is the ability of an object to be hammered into shapes.
Most metals are malleable.
Copper, gold, and silver are very malleable.
Ductility is the ability of an object to be stretched into wires.
Ductility and malleability are physical properties.

You can test for proportionality on a graph by looking at various properties
A proportional graph will always go through the origin ( 0,0 )
A proportional graph will be a straight line
If you list points ( ordered pairs) from a graph you can create ratios and see if they are constant

Introduction to metabolism | Biology|
You may have heard that you have a fast metabolism or a slow metabolism

But what exactly is your metabolism?

Metabolism is the sum of all chemical reactions within the cells of living things.
Take a look at this summary of all of the chemical reactions taking place in a human.
The chemical reactions of metabolism are organized into pathways in which one chemical is transformed through a series of steps into another chemical, with the help of enzymes.
An example of a pathway is cellular respiration in which glucose and oxygen are transformed into carbon dioxide water and ATP which is used for energy

You can break metabolism down into three main categories.

The chemical reactions used for the conversion of food to energy
The conversion of food into building blocks used to make items like proteins
The chemical reactions needed for the elimination of waste

Enzymes are crucial to metabolism Enzymes help speed up chemical reactions The molecules upon which enzymes may act are called substrates and the enzyme converts the substrates into different molecules known as products.
Almost all chemical reactions in the cell need enzymes in order to occur at rates fast enough to sustain life
There are over 5000 chemical reactions that occur in plants,animals, and microbes that are controlled by enzymes.

Most of the structures that make up animals, plants and microbes are made from three basic classes of molecule: amino acids, carbohydrates and lipids
Many chemical reactions focus on making these molecules during the construction of cells and tissues, or by breaking them down and using them as a source of energy during digestion and cellular respiration.

These chemicals can also be joined together to make DNA and proteins.

How do thunderstorms form? In this video, I will cover the basics of these exciting storms.Here is how a thunderstorm forms
Step 1 Warm moist air is heated and begins to rise upward.
Step 2 As this warm air rises it begins to cool, condenses and begins to form clouds
Step 3 This warm air will continue to rise and will encounter cold air which will cool the moisture in the clouds and ice may form
Step 4 Eventually the cooled moisture and ice will begin to fall to the earth This action creates a downdraft
5. The updrafts continue feeding warm humid air and the falling moisture create downdrafts. This creates convection currents. You can see what convection currents look like. The warm water is in red and the cool water is blue.
These convection currents create the most violent stage of the thunderstorm
Lightning and strong winds are produced
6. Eventually the downdrafts will stop the updrafts of warm air
7 When the warm moist air is cut off the storm begins to dye off

There are three main types of thunderstorms; orographic, air mass, and frontal.
