The Sun is in the middle of our solar system, and all the eight planets of the solar system revolve around it following their orbits. The Sun is a star, which means it’s a big ball of hot gas. Right now, it’s a dwarf star in the middle of its life, but over time it expands, which means “grows bigger”, to turn into a giant star when it gets really old.
Here are some amazing facts about the Sun:
1. The Sun is 327,000 times bigger than the Earth;
2. The temperature of the Sun surface is almost 10,000 degrees F, or over 5,000 degrees C;
3. The Sun is 93 million miles, or 150 million kilometers, away from us;
4. It takes the Sun’s light 8 minutes to reach the earth;
5. Our Sun is 4.5 billion years old.
In many ancient cultures the Sun was considered sacred. However, people not only worshipped the sun, they also learned how to use its energy in different ways. For example, the Ancient Egyptians knew how to build houses so that their walls would accumulate the Sun’s heat during the day and warm the house during the night. The Ancient Romans used sunlight to heat water in their baths. Nowadays the Sun’s light is an important alternative source of sustainable renewable energy. People build solar power systems, like solar panels, to generate heat and electricity.

Learn Letter E - Alphabet for Children | Kids Academy

The very first thing kids learn are alphabets. Starting from nursery and kindergarten children are taught to read, write and pronounce different alphabets. Today our task is to read, learn, write and pronounce the letter E. Letter E is the fifth letter in the alphabetical order.

Let’s begin with the sound this letter produces. It generally makes two different sounds which are (ae) for example egg and (ee), example eel. Our second task is to try writing the letter. To write the letter, make a straight line and then make three horizontal lines connected to it.


What are some other things you need to know? Well, E is a vowel as well. A vowel is a speech sound which is made by the vocal folds. Majority of the words consists of any one of the vowels which make the pronunciation easier. Amazing, right? Even though it can be a little hard for kids sometimes but trust me there are tons of fun ways to help children learn quickly through worksheets, fun activities, and numerous other ways.

Phonics teaches learners that letters represent the sounds in the English language. Phonics provides the tools needed to read and spell words correctly. To be successful in phonics, a solid foundation of learning the alphabet and each letter’s sound is essential.

To begin young learners must first learn how to identify each letter. Then the student learns that each letter has one or more sounds. The letters put together to form words. Reading words phonetically allows children to decode unfamiliar words independently.

13 American Colonies | US History | Kids Academy

A colony is a place where people from other countries have settled outside their home country and this place is governed by their home country. By the mid-1700s England had set up 13 colonies along the East Coast of America.
There were three groups of colonies of the US-based on the way people lived in these colonies.

Northeast
Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts were the colonies in the northeast. Here people came from England mostly for religious freedom. However, living conditions here were tough. The soil was rocky, and the climate was cold hence cultivation was not an option for them. So, they switched to seafood and become sailors. Their ships were made from lumber in the area.

Middle colonies
New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware were the home to Germans, Irish and Dutch. The weather conditions were better here and many crops such as wheat were grown here.

Southern colonies
Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, made up the southern colonies. The climate here was much warmer and had really good soil which helped them to grow all sorts of crops. Their economy was based on agriculture.
One thing common in all these colonies was the slavery of black men. They suffered harsh living conditions and extreme slavery in all the colonies. Eventually, these 13 American colonies became 13 states and now exist as individual states in America.

What is learning?

How can you make learning easier and fun, especially for kids? How can you develop their interest in acquiring new things? Well, if you really want to dig into the details of these questions make sure you read on.

What is learning?

Learning is basically acquiring knowledge, new skills, behaviors, preferences, and values. Nelson Mandela once said:
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

So, basically learning and educating is something everyone needs to do for sure. Now let’s move on to the next question.
How to make learning easier for kids?

There are several different techniques highly suggested by the educational psychologists which certainly makes learning easier for kids. Here are a few tips.
• Make them watch interesting and related videos.
• Use images and pictures more to explain and elaborate a little better.
• Choose a quiet place when learning.
• Take breaks in between lecture so the kids aren’t exhausted.
• Make sure the kids are fresh and listening carefully.

Now, off to the third question.

How can you develop their interest in learning?
Okay, so this is mainly the hard part. Developing the interests is the most challenging and daunting task. Even though there are some kids who are interested in learning new things on their own but a few require some extra attention, most of the time. There are few tips which can make developing the interest of children a lot easier.

Have a look:
• Use a lot of attracting colors, puppets, and flashcards to develop their interest in learning.
• Videos can also make learning more interesting.
• Pictures and slideshows can also help in developing children interest.

The Letter C:

Alphabets are the first thing taught in school and trust me it’s quite grueling and strenuous. Why? Well, because it’s not only about memorizing the alphabet. You need to help them make different sounds of the alphabet, help them write it, pronounce it, make words out of it and then use it in the sentence. But obviously you don’t do it all at once, right?

The initial step is to make them learn to read, pronounce and write the alphabet. Let’s discuss how to pronounce the letter C.
Letter C is the third alphabet in the ABC’s. Everyone is quite of that I’m sure. So let’s stick on to this word and figure out how to learn it easily.

Learn Letter C:

Okay, so we have already learned the different ways which can help make learning easier. One of the best ways is to put on images, flashcards, and most importantly videos. Videos not only help in developing an interest in learning but also assists in remembering and recalling the alphabets. Making children watch videos is best for children who have a problem with concentration and do not pay attention.

How to learn the Letter C?

Pronunciation of the letter is most important. Obviously, there is more than one way to pronounce the letter C. To make that easier playing a video which not only helps the kids in recognizing the alphabet but also helps in pronouncing the different sounds made by the alphabet.

Visual Processing:

The human brain, especially children’s, is dedicated more towards the visual processing. Producers and Consumers - Examples and Difference | Kids Academy

For us adults, it’s pretty easy to grasp the concept of producers and consumers but when it comes to kids, things are different and they can’t quite get these concepts as quickly as we do.

You see, a child’s brain is open to as much knowledge as you can put and to teach about things like producers and consumers, etc, you just need to come up with ways and creative activities that can help the little one in learning with zeal.

For example, when you have to teach him about a producer and a consumer, you are supposed to use different mediums like Youtube videos, textbooks, and different stories, etc. Most importantly, one of the most effective ways to teach your child is to make him watch Youtube videos. Thanksgiving Story for Kids - The First Thanksgiving

It's Kids Academy, and today we are gonna talk about Thanksgiving Day! It is a holiday celebrated in America on the fourth Thursday of every November. Children know Thanksgiving as a day that they are off school and eat turkey. Ask your students and children if they know the story of how Thanksgiving began. Further, ask your students or children what it means to be thankful and list things for which they are thankful. This video explains the history of Thanksgiving in a way that is easy to understand and it is perfect for young learners.

The video opens with a description of what most children understand about Thanksgiving. The video mentions parades, a big meal and time spent with family on Thanksgiving. Then the video details the story of the Pilgrims and their voyage to the New World. After their arrival, the winter was cold and long. When it was spring the Pilgrims needed to plant food to survive. The Native Americans helped the Pilgrims plant food such as corn. At the end of the summer there was a great harvest. The Pilgrims celebrated and invited the Native Americans to a big feast. This was the first Thanksgiving.
The video points out that the Pilgrims were very thankful for their food and the help they received from their Native American friends. Now on Thanksgiving each year we express our thankfulness as well for food, family and shelter.

US Local Government Departments | Water, Fire, Police, Sanitation Recreation & Transportation

If your kid is at that stage of his life when he should start learning about the government, what it does and what do the sectors in the government do then it is an undeniable fact that you first need to teach them about the different departments of the local government of the US.

For starters, the local government is divided into sectors and each sector is assigned a particular duty. For example, when we talk about the state and city governments, they are divided into different departments like the department of water, the department of fire, police, sanitation, recreation, and transportation.

Long story short, these departments take care of the basis on which a state or country runs.

Water Department: The water department is responsible for providing safe and clean water to drink, make food and bathe. Not only this, in fact, this department is also responsible to provide resources of water for emergency purposes like when there’s a fire somewhere.

Fire Department: The fire department is of course there to save people from fires and the destruction caused by it. For example, if a building is on fire, this department will be on alert.

Police: For controlling crime in a state and punishing thieves and looters etc, the police department is there to make sure that people are following the law.

Sanitation: This department is responsible for providing a healthy atmosphere for people. Keeping the roads clean, getting rid of all the debris and making sure that there’s little to no pollution around falls in their department.

Recreation Department: They take care of entertainment places like parks, beaches, and playgrounds, etc.

Transportation Department: They are the ones who look after the transportation systems of a state.

When we add -er to a word it makes a word that means a person who does something. For example:

When we add -ness to a word it means ‘the act of’. Which means that something is being done with some kind of quality. For example:

• Happiness
