Improved math is a channel created to provide additional instruction on essential math concepts. Iโm passionate about math and I know first-hand how important math concepts are in the real world.
Teachers, parents, guardians, homeschoolers, and students can use these videos to help reinforce math skills. These math videos are designed to help teach yourself math or provide self-study math tools to assist when additional instruction is needed. Teaching math and learning math has changed the way many students learn in this virtual environment. Having on-demand math videos can provide math tutoring needed when children are not able to get help from their teachers after school hours or when trying to do math at home.
The library of math tutorials that I create can also be used as supplemental instructional material for homeschool math. Each full-length video comes with a subsequent knowledge check or math practice problems which serve as a virtual math topic worksheet to test your understanding of each skill. These videos can be paused to work out the problems on your own, then unpaused to check your answers. All of these videos can be found under the Knowledge Check playlist.
I also have a library of shorter videos (less than 1 minute in length - shorts) that are quick math tips and tricks on basic math topics. Some of these short math help videos include problems that you can work on yourself and submit your answers in the comments. They are all listed under my Math Tips and Tricks playlist.
Improved math is creating more videos every day to cover topics from 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, and 7th-grade math. The videos focus on fractions, basic math operations, geometry, and ratios but more topics are being added all the time. If there is a specific topic you would like to see covered, drop me a comment in one of my videos and let me know!
Free math help videos will be posted every Thursday and Friday. For additional math resources, check out my math help website at improvedmath.com where I post math worksheets and answers along with additional context on math basics.
Thanks for watching my channel.

The British Government kept the โOperation Unthinkableโ document a secret, even from their closest allies, the Americans. After the war, Churchill made no reference to it, not even in his memoirs. It was declassified only a half a century after, in 1998. It was only then that the world got to know how close they had been to World War III.

What is a fact? What is an opinion? And what is the difference between the two? In Fact and Opinion for Kids, you and your student(s) will learn how to tell the difference between a statement of fact and one that is simply a person's opinion.
This video starts out with a great example that demonstrates opinions. Andrew loves pizza, his mom loves ice cream, and his dad loves apples. None of these foods are the best food in the world to everyone, so each person's favorite food choice is their opinion. Facts are statements that can be proven. The sun is yellow. The sky is blue. These are facts that people can prove quite easily. Summer is the best time of year. Soccer is the most fun sport to play. These statements cannot be proven. They are opinions because people prefer different things. Some people may believe summer to be the best time of year. Others, though, might prefer autumn or winter weather even more.
Some opinions can be supported by facts. While they are still opinions, they can be considered widely accepted because of the facts that support them. There are two reasons to know the difference between facts and opinions. One reason is that listening to others' opinions help you better understand them and know them better. The other reason is that knowing the facts about something helps you make important decisions.
We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning how to differentiate between a fact and an opinion! If you want even more practice, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!

Fun facts about animals
The secret behind a catโs tongue
Cats are very special mammal animals, and until not long ago, they had a secret in their tongue which we have finally discovered. They are very sleepy animals, they sleep 14 hours a day, but they are also very clean, since when they are awake they dedicate a long time to cleaning their bodies with their own tongues.
But we couldnโt understand how they could clean themselves perfectly by just licking. Some researchers have found out that cats tongues are covered in many tiny thorns called buds. These thorns have a hollow cavity, which cats use to fill with saliva and use it, as if it was a sponge with water and soap, to clean all of their bodies. That is, by licking themselves! Cats are very clean, and beautiful!

A basketball and a 5kg medicine ball are dropped simultaneously. Which one hits the ground first? It seems obvious that the heavy one should accelerate at a greater rate and therefore land first because the force pulling it down is greater. But this is forgetting inertia - the tendency of mass to resist changes in motion. Therefore, although the force on the medicine ball is greater, it takes this larger force to accelerate the ball at the same rate as the basketball.
What causes the phases of the moon? The common incorrect answer is the shadow of the Earth. The phases of the moon are actually just a result of our perception of the moon's half-illuminated surface. When the moon does pass through Earth's shadow the result is a lunar eclipse. This can be spectacular as the moon turns a deep shade of red.

Algebra II on Khan Academy: Your studies in algebra 1 have built a solid foundation from which you can explore linear equations, inequalities, and functions. In algebra 2 we build upon that foundation and not only extend our knowledge of algebra 1, but slowly become capable of tackling the BIG questions of the universe. We'll again touch on systems of equations, inequalities, and functions...but we'll also address exponential and logarithmic functions, logarithms, imaginary and complex numbers, conic sections, and matrices. Don't let these big words intimidate you. We're on this journey with you!
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
