Genotype and phenotypesYour genotype is your genetic code of your cells. This genetic code is responsible for many of your traits. The physical expression of your genotype is your phenotype.


Your genetic information is stored in your chromosomes on sections called genes.
A gene is a portion of DNA that codes for a trait.
The following picture illustrates this.
If you look at this drawing of a gene, the different sections are your genes.
In genetics you will encounter these three types of genotypes.
Homozygous dominant is written BB
Homozygous recessive bb
Heterozygous Bb
For each trait you get some information from mom and some from dad.
The different forms of the same trait are called alleles.
Take a look at the different hair texture. These different forms are alleles. It is still hair, just different forms.
A dominant allele will cover up or mask a recessive allele.
You will only get a recessive allele if both alleles are recessive.
Your phenotype is the actual expression of the genotype.
For example this dog has a round nose, this cat has black hair. These are physical expression of the genetic code.

👉Learn how to factor quadratics when the coefficient of the term with a squared variable is not 1. To factor an algebraic expression means to break it up into expressions that can be multiplied together to get the original expression.

To factor a quadratic trinomial where the coefficient of the term with a squared variable is not 1, we find two expressions which when multiplied together gives the product of the constant term (the term with no variable) and the term with the squared variable and when the two expressions are added gives the term whose variable has no power. These two expressions obtained are used to replace the term whose variable has no power. The result is then factored by grouping them and factoring out the GCD.

There are other methods that can be used to achive this including the AC, Berry, Box, Grouping and mental technique. Each way will have it's benefits but it is also helpful to check your answer by multiplying your binomials to make sure they give the original trinomial

Students investigate the property dependence between liquid and solid interfaces and determine observable differences in how liquids react to different solid surfaces. They compare copper pennies and plastic "coins" as the two test surfaces. Using an eye dropper to deliver various fluids onto the surfaces, students determine the volume and mass of a liquid that can sit on the surface. They use rulers, scales, equations of volume and area, and other methods of approximation and observation, to make their own graphical interpretations of trends. They apply what they learned to design two super-surfaces (from provided surface treatment materials) that are capable of holding the most liquid by volume and by mass. Cost of materials is a parameter in their design decisions.

In this video I would like to talk about the history of microscopes.During the 1590s, the two spectacle-makers, Hans and Zacharias Jansen began experimenting. They put lenses in a tube and made a very important discovery. They discovered that objects near the end of the tube appeared to be enlarged, much larger than any simple magnifying glass could achieve alone.

In the 1660’s Robert Hooke began looking at all kinds of objects with his microscope.
He put all of his drawings in a book called Micrographia
He is credited with naming cells but also studied items like fleas under his microscope.
Anton van Leeuwenhoek was very good at grinding and polishing lenses.
These lenses led to the building of his microscope which was considered the first practical microscope.
In 1674 Anton Van Leeuwenhoek was the first to see and describe bacteria.
Another huge advance in microscopes didn’t occur until German physicist Ernst Ruska and the electrical engineer Max Knoll constructed the prototype electron microscope in 1931, capable of four-hundred-power magnification.
Electron microscopes uses accelerated electrons in order to view objects.
Modern electron microscopes can magnify objects up to 10 million times

"Itsy Bitsy Spider" (also known as "Incy Wincy Spider") and several other similar-sounding names) is a popular nursery rhyme and fingerplay that describes the adventures of a spider as it ascends, descends, and reascends the downspout or "waterspout" of a gutter system. It is usually accompanied by a sequence of gestures that mimic the words of the song.
