Linear Algebra on Khan Academy: Have you ever wondered what the difference is between speed and velocity? Ever try to visualize in four dimensions or six or seven? Linear algebra describes things in two dimensions, but many of the concepts can be extended into three, four or more. Linear algebra implies two dimensional reasoning, however, the concepts covered in linear algebra provide the basis for multi-dimensional representations of mathematical reasoning. Matrices, vectors, vector spaces, transformations, eigenvectors/values all help us to visualize and understand multi dimensional concepts. This is an advanced course normally taken by science or engineering majors after taking at least two semesters of calculus (although calculus really isn't a prereq) so don't confuse this with regular high school algebra.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

Algebra II on Khan Academy: Your studies in algebra 1 have built a solid foundation from which you can explore linear equations, inequalities, and functions. In algebra 2 we build upon that foundation and not only extend our knowledge of algebra 1, but slowly become capable of tackling the BIG questions of the universe. We'll again touch on systems of equations, inequalities, and functions...but we'll also address exponential and logarithmic functions, logarithms, imaginary and complex numbers, conic sections, and matrices. Don't let these big words intimidate you. We're on this journey with you!

Everyone is familiar with the Hollywood version of medieval jousts. The handsome knight galloping towards his sworn enemy, lance steady and stern, while his lady’s handkerchief gently sits next to his heart. But have you ever seen a joust that used boats instead of horses? Knights who practised hitting targets hung from masts in rivers instead of in training grounds? Watch how even some of the painted Maya, viking raiders or pious monks staved off their boredom. Through some truly odd ball games, they might leave you baffled and confused, and yet still have a part of you wanting to try them out yourself

You may have heard of people dancing to death, laughing to death or sitting on a throne to death, but there are many more surprising stories told to the Grim Reaper when the scythe is resting by the door.
What follows are what happens when you really want to stick it to your enemies for slowing your conquest of the Mediterranean, the consequences of leaving a nuclear reactor to inexperienced workers, the measures people will go to when they’re furious and hungry, and an unfortunate incident relating with an elephant-sized general.

This organic chemistry video tutorial discusses shielding and deshielding as it relates to H-NMR spectroscopy. A hydrogen nucleus is said to be shielded from an external magnetic field if it is an electron rich environment. It will thus appear upfield in the NMR spectrum. Protons adjacent to electron withdrawing group are said to be deshielded and appear downfield in a NMR spectrum.

There is some debate which should be taught first – UPPERCASE letters of lowercase letters. On the one hand, uppercase letters are easier to identify and draw. On the other hand, most of what is written is in lowercase.
Whichever order you choose, we have prepared this entertaining video for teaching uppercase letters. Cute animals, natural phenomena and your kids’ favorite foods will introduce letters to your little ones and help them learn their ABCs.

Volume of Geometric Shapes
How to use the volume sphere formula in order to calculate the volume.
The formula for the volume of a sphere is 4/3 pi times the radius squared.
The radius of a sphere is half of the diameter.
In this example, I use 3.14 for pi which is the ratio of circumference to the diameter of a circle.
In example two you will use diameter to calculate the volume.
Check out: Surface Area Sphere Demo. I show why the surface area of a sphere is equal to a 4 to 1 ratio to the surface area of the hemisphere of the sphere

How to use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the hypotenuse or a leg length.
Learn how to use the Pythagorean theorem. The Pythagorean theorem expresses the relation among the three sides of a right triangle. A right triangle is a triangle with one angle of 90 degrees. This theorem can be used to calculate the missing length of a right triangle. The Pythagorean theorem states that the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the two sides equals the square of the hypotenuse. The hypotenuse is the side opposite the right angle.
Example problems
Calculate the hypotenuse of a right triangle given the side lengths.
Calculate the length of the missing side.
