Algebra II on Khan Academy: Your studies in algebra 1 have built a solid foundation from which you can explore linear equations, inequalities, and functions. In algebra 2 we build upon that foundation and not only extend our knowledge of algebra 1, but slowly become capable of tackling the BIG questions of the universe. We'll again touch on systems of equations, inequalities, and functions...but we'll also address exponential and logarithmic functions, logarithms, imaginary and complex numbers, conic sections, and matrices. Don't let these big words intimidate you. We're on this journey with you!
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

Multivariable Calculus on Khan Academy: Think calculus. Then think algebra II and working with two variables in a single equation. Now generalize and combine these two mathematical concepts, and you begin to see some of what Multivariable calculus entails, only now include multi dimensional thinking. Typical concepts or operations may include: limits and continuity, partial differentiation, multiple integration, scalar functions, and fundamental theorem of calculus in multiple dimensions.

In a hands-on way, students explore light's properties of absorption, reflection, transmission and refraction through various experimental stations within the classroom. To understand absorption, reflection and transmission, they shine flashlights on a number of provided objects. To understand refraction, students create indoor rainbows. An understanding of the fundamental properties of light is essential to designing an invisible laser security system, the ongoing objective in this unit.

Grade 6th on Khan Academy: By the 6th grade, you're becoming a sophisticated mathemagician. You'll be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide any non-negative numbers (including decimals and fractions) that any grumpy ogre throws at you. Mind-blowing ideas like exponents (you saw these briefly in the 5th grade), ratios, percents, negative numbers, and variable expressions will start being in your comfort zone. Most importantly, the algebraic side of mathematics is a whole new kind of fun! And if that is not enough, we are going to continue with our understanding of ideas like the coordinate plane (from 5th grade) and area while beginning to derive meaning from data! (Content was selected for this grade level based on a typical curriculum in the United States.)

Teach your students how to resolve their differences with negotiation and compromise, and why it's a bad thing to always get your way: https://brnpop.co/34E5tot
People are not always going to get along everyone. And anger and frustration are natural human emotions, so thereโs no way to avoid feeling them. But there are ways to disagree without being disagreeableโand in this BrainPOP movie on conflict resolution, Tim and Moby will teach your students all about them!
Students will find out why itโs a good idea to take a deep breath and collect themselves before they respond to a situation they're not thrilled about. They'll discover different ways to compromise, and how placing themselves in another personโs shoes can change a potential screaming match into a friendly discussion.

โฆฟ Dentist Song for Kids Lyrics:
Mommy says when I eat candy
I have to brush my teeth
But I forgot
And now I've got
-OUCHA cavity
So I'm going to the dentist today
Cause I'm so big and I'm so brave
There's no need to be afraid
He'll make my toothache go away
We brush brush brush our teeth at home
We swish and spit and then
If we feel like something's wrong
We see our dentist friend
We'll go inside the waiting room
Where we'll get to play
The dentist has so many toys
I could stay all day!
I'm going to the dentist today
Cause I'm so big and I'm so brave
There's no need to be afraid
He'll make my toothache go away
They polish my teeth
And scrape the plaque
They get rid of the germs
I lie back, relaxed
They take an x-ray of my teeth
A picture of what's inside
My mouth that I'd never see
It's time to open wide!
I'm going to the dentist today
Cause I'm so big and I'm so brave
There's no need to be afraid
He'll make my toothache go away
I love the way my smile looks
So healthy white and clean
I thank the dentist for his help
We make a perfect team
If you love the dentist, claps your hands
If you love the dentist stomp your feet
If you know the dentist is your friend
Then brush your gums and brush your teeth
I'm going to the dentist today
Cause I'm so big and I'm so brave
There's no need to be afraid
He'll make my toothache go away
I went to the dentist today
Cause I'm so big and I'm so brave
There's no need to be afraid
He'll make my toothache go away
Hopefully the dentist song for kids inspires children to visit the dentist, to brush their teeth (teeth cleaning), and not be afraid to visit the dentist.

This physics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into the surface tension of water. Surface tension prevents small amounts of water from flattening out across a surface. Rather, it causes water to minimize its surface area and as a result, water forms small beadlike droplets. This video also discusses the capillary action of water as it is draw up through small tubes known as capillaries. Surface tension can be calculated by divided the force per unit length required to increase the area of a fluid. The surface tension opposes the force and attempts to minimize the area. The work required to increase the area of a fluid by a force is the surface tension multiplied by the increase in area. This video discusses the difference in the capillary effects between water and mercury. Water rises above the surrounding fluid level in a thin glass tube where as mercury descends below that line. The adhesive forces in water is greater than the cohesive forces. In Mercury, the cohesive forces are greater than the adhesive forces. Adhesive forces exist between different molecules and atoms. Cohesive forces exist between the same type of molecules and atoms.

Precalculus on Khan Academy: You may think that precalculus is simply the course you take before calculus. You would be right, of course, but that definition doesn't mean anything unless you have some knowledge of what calculus is. Let's keep it simple, shall we? Calculus is a conceptual framework which provides systematic techniques for solving problems. These problems are appropriately applicable to analytic geometry and algebra. Therefore....precalculus gives you the background for the mathematical concepts, problems, issues and techniques that appear in calculus, including trigonometry, functions, complex numbers, vectors, matrices, and others. There you have it ladies and gentlemen....an introduction to precalculus!
