This video shows you everything you need to know to calculate the percent of a number. I walk you through 2 methods in this video: the fractional method and the decimal method.
I also walk you through an example for calculating the percentage of a number using a calculator as well as finding percents greater than 100%.

Improved math is a channel created to provide additional instruction on essential math concepts. I’m passionate about math and I know first-hand how important math concepts are in the real world.
Teachers, parents, guardians, homeschoolers, and students can use these videos to help reinforce math skills. These math videos are designed to help teach yourself math or provide self-study math tools to assist when additional instruction is needed. Teaching math and learning math has changed the way many students learn in this virtual environment. Having on-demand math videos can provide math tutoring needed when children are not able to get help from their teachers after school hours or when trying to do math at home.
The library of math tutorials that I create can also be used as supplemental instructional material for homeschool math. Each full-length video comes with a subsequent knowledge check or math practice problems which serve as a virtual math topic worksheet to test your understanding of each skill. These videos can be paused to work out the problems on your own, then unpaused to check your answers. All of these videos can be found under the Knowledge Check playlist.
I also have a library of shorter videos (less than 1 minute in length - shorts) that are quick math tips and tricks on basic math topics. Some of these short math help videos include problems that you can work on yourself and submit your answers in the comments. They are all listed under my Math Tips and Tricks playlist.
Improved math is creating more videos every day to cover topics from 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, and 7th-grade math. The videos focus on fractions, basic math operations, geometry, and ratios but more topics are being added all the time. If there is a specific topic you would like to see covered, drop me a comment in one of my videos and let me know!
Free math help videos will be posted every Thursday and Friday. For additional math resources, check out my math help website at improvedmath.com where I post math worksheets and answers along with additional context on math basics.
Thanks for watching my channel.

Can you take a derivative only partway? Is there any meaning to a "half-derivative"? Does such a concept even make sense? And if so, what do these fractional derivatives look like?

===============================
Minor correction: The footnote at 7:34 should say the trig substitution produces another *whole* factor of pi (not a root pi) in the numerator which then cancels the *two* root(pi)'s that appear in the denominator from applying the half integral formula twice.

Atoms are very weird. Wrapping your head around exactly how weird, is close to impossible – how can you describe something that is SO removed from humans experience? But then again, they kind of make up everything, so let us try anyways.

For this video I went off the coast of South Australia to an island frequented by great white sharks. Here they hunt seals and fish. I've never been scuba diving before but I got into a cage and filmed the sharks under water. It was an incredible experience. Then we came back on the surface to tag the sharks.

Astronomers think there should be 5 times as much dark matter as ordinary matter – a shadow universe that makes up most of the mass in the universe. But after decades of trying, no experiments have found any trace of dark matter – except one.

Teacher BIO
Mrs. Romero has helped students, 6th through 12th grade, cultivate a love of reading and writing in her classroom! She graduated with honors from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelors and Masters degree in English-Secondary Education. As an online learner, Mrs. Romero learned, first-hand, the strategies that work when engaging students in online learning. With her experience, wealth of knowledge, and plethora of ideas, she knows that she can challenge students to excel and become lifelong lovers of reading and writing.
Class Description
Did someone say “Novel Study”? Students will read a teacher-selected novel that will help them develop a deeper understanding of literature and themselves. Upon completing this course, students will be able to identify key literary elements such as author’s purpose, theme, and characterization. Students will analyze the novel and other related material to further improve writing, reading, comprehension, research, and critical-thinking skills. Through the novel study, activities, and class discussions, students will gain a better understanding of literature and how it connects them to the real world.

_________________ABOUT_____________________
Complete K12 essentials Youtube channel and Complete K12 Essentials.com was created to offer parents and teachers an online augmentation or alternative when public schools are not available. The need for standard curriculum that can be delivered via the internet became obvious during the pandemic of 2020.
The challenge was to give each child a method to connect with teachers and class mates to simulate a natural learning environment. Although we are still building our library of video lessons, you can use our videos to create lesson plans, review standardized material, introduce building blocks and drills, as well as assigning tests and quizzes on limited videos, such as vocabulary. We are building videos that will serve all students from kindergarten through the 12th grade.
Our goal is to provide videos that will serve as a resource for those teaching or those looking to cover important standardized curriculum. We believe that access to a solid foundation of knowledge should be available to everyone who chooses to seek it. Many offerings online lean on animation to capture a child’s attention, which to a certain extent works, but they lose interest rapidly and the opportunities for learning are significantly reduced. This is especially true when the child has no obligation to retain the material or accountability to a teacher. Navigating through the material suitable for each grade level is a difficult task at best, so we have created the “SAFE LEARNING PLACE” logo and apply it to all of our videos to show you our dedication to providing good learning material that can be trusted across our whole channel. The curriculum will cover Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Technology, Music, Art, Health and Fitness, Foreign Languages, Life Skills, Career training, History and Law.
A,B,C,D... which answer is most common on multiple choice questions? Is the old advice to "go with C when in doubt" actually true?
In this video, I'll reveal the answer. Additionally, we'll go over five useful strategies you can use to improve your performance on these types of questions - whether they're on your ACT/SAT/GCSE exams or just on a pop quiz.

Geometry on Khan Academy: We are surrounded by space. And that space contains lots of things. And these things have shapes. In geometry we are concerned with the nature of these shapes, how we define them, and what they teach us about the world at large--from math to architecture to biology to astronomy (and everything in between). Learning geometry is about more than just taking your medicine ("It's good for you!"), it's at the core of everything that exists--including you. Having said all that, some of the specific topics we'll cover include angles, intersecting lines, right triangles, perimeter, area, volume, circles, triangles, quadrilaterals, analytic geometry, and geometric constructions. Wow. That's a lot. To summarize: it's difficult to imagine any area of math that is more widely used than geometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything
