An outlier is a number in a data set that is much smaller or larger than the other numbers in the data set.
Transcript
Welcome to MooMooMath where we upload a new Math video everyday. In this video I would like to talk about what an outliers and how the affect measure of center.
An OUTLIER is when one data value is much greater
or much less than the rest of the data values in the
set.
An OUTLIER may affect a measure of center.
Determine how the outlier affects the median and the mean in the
following quiz scores.
55, 88, 90, 93, 94
Indentify the outlier yes it is 55
Next Find the median
Determine how the outlier affects the median by finding the median WITHOUT the outlier included.
MEDIAN = WITHOUT THE OUTLIER
Is as follows.
Did the median change? By how much? 1.5
Next, Calculate the mean
Determine how the outlier affects the mean by finding the mean
WITHOUT the outlier included.
MEAN = WITHOUT THE OUTLIER
Did the mean change? yes By how much? 7.25
Which measure of center changed MORE with the outlier?
The mean
WHEN THERE IS AN OUTLIER, IT IS BEST TO USE THE
MEDIAN
No outlier use mean when finding the measure of center
of comparing the measure of center
Thanks for watching MooMooMath uploads a new Math video everyday

Suffixes ful, less, ly, able | English Grammar for Children | Grade 2 | Kids Academy
The English language is very interesting, if you look at the words closely you will see some repetitive combination of alphabets ending the words. These letters that end a word are called ‘suffixes. These suffixes change the meaning of words and can create new words. In this video we talk about 4 suffixes:
-ful
-less
-ly
-able
-ful
When we add suffix -ful to a word it changes its meaning to ‘full of’. For example:
• Colorful
• Grateful
-less
When we add -less to a word it means ‘without’, which means that something is without the word that’s in the start of this word. For example:
• Homeless
• Helpless
-ly
The suffix -ly can be used to answer two questions, how often and how. For example:
1. How did she act? Answer: Badly
2. How often does she dance? Answer: Weekly
-able
-able simply means ‘can’. That something can be done. For example:
• Respectable
• Comfortable
So now you know the suffixes. Find words in a storybook ending with these suffixes, just as a practice exercise. These are very important to learn about good English grammar for children.

This calculus video tutorial provides a basic introduction into solving bernoulli's equation as it relates to differential equations. You need to write the differential equation into the standard form of Bernoulli's equation and identify P(x), Q(x), and n. If n = 0, you have a linear differential equation. If n = 1, then you have a differential equation that can be solved by separation of variables. Next, you need to identify the integrating factor I(x) and then you find the general solution to Bernoulli's differential equation. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems.

Algebra II on Khan Academy: Your studies in algebra 1 have built a solid foundation from which you can explore linear equations, inequalities, and functions. In algebra 2 we build upon that foundation and not only extend our knowledge of algebra 1, but slowly become capable of tackling the BIG questions of the universe. We'll again touch on systems of equations, inequalities, and functions...but we'll also address exponential and logarithmic functions, logarithms, imaginary and complex numbers, conic sections, and matrices. Don't let these big words intimidate you. We're on this journey with you!
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. The total solar eclipse from Madras, Oregon on August 21, 2017. As the moon passed in front of the sun turning day to night and revealing the sun's corona, apparently all I could think to say was 'Oh my goodness!'
This awe-inspiring phenomenon returned to the US on April 8, 2024, when total solar eclipse crossed North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

Everyone says not to photograph your first solar eclipse and I think they might be right. I was focused on getting the exposure right for Bailey's beads and the diamond ring, plus making sure to get the corona and solar flares. This was a bit stressful but I'm delighted with the results.
This video originally included more info but since I'm uploading from Madras where the internet is sluggish, I cut out three minutes so the upload would happen before I had to leave for my flight.
Special thanks also to Dr. Teagan Wall for sharing this experience with me and Raquel Nuno for inspiring me to come to Oregon.

"The Letter S Song" (See below for lyrics)
"The Letter S Song" flows easily in the style of country rock music. As "The Letter S Song" begins, the crowd of a concert can be heard in the background of the song. If your child enjoys performing, you can put on a concert in your own living room! Your child can place their toys on the couch and floor to represent the cheering audience as he or she sings along with "The Letter S Song"!

Song Lyrics:
Seven sailors in a sailboat
sailed across the salty sea.
They settled in and watched the sunset,
eating a sandwich and sipping tea.
Sam and Sue saw seven seagulls
soaring high up in the sky.
The seagulls swirled and swooped and swayed.
It's such a sight to see 'em fly!
It isn't very hard to guess,
this song's about the letter s.
More than any words, by far,
start with letter s, the one that follows r: the letter s!
Susie Seal sang for her supper,
singing songs to get some fish.
Speckled, spotted, spiny, striped
sardines and salmon are so dee-lish!
I see Sydney in the sandbox.
Sally's stringing beads on strings.
And, I see Simon's sister swimming
and Sara somewhere swingin' on the swings!
It isn't very hard to guess,
this song's about the letter s.
More than any words, by far,
start with letter s, the one that follows r: the letter s!
Lots of s words are fun to say.
So let's all say some, and this is how:
silly, soapy, sloppy, slurpy, sleepy.
Wow! I think you've got it now!
It isn't very hard to guess,
this song's about the letter s.
More than any words, by far,
start with letter s, the one that follows r: the letter s!

Improved math is a channel created to provide additional instruction on essential math concepts. I’m passionate about math and I know first-hand how important math concepts are in the real world.
Teachers, parents, guardians, homeschoolers, and students can use these videos to help reinforce math skills. These math videos are designed to help teach yourself math or provide self study math tools to assist when additional instruction is needed. Teaching math and learning math has changed the way many students learn in this virtual environment and during the pandemic. Having on-demand math videos can provide math tutoring needed when children are not able to get help from their teachers after school hours or when trying to do math at home.
The library of math tutorials that I create can also be used as supplemental instructional material for homeschool math. Each full-length video comes with a subsequent knowledge check or math practice problems which serve as a virtual math topic worksheet to test your understanding of each skill. These videos can be paused to work out the problems on your own, then unpaused to check your answers. All of these videos can be found under the Knowledge Check playlist.
I also have a library of shorter videos (less than 1 minute in length - shorts) that are quick math tips and tricks on basic math topics. Some of these short math help videos include problems that you can work on yourself and submit your answers in the comments. They are all listed under my Math Tips and Tricks playlist.
Improved math is creating more videos every day to cover topics from 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, and 7th-grade math. The videos focus on fractions, basic math operations, geometry, and ratios but more topics are being added all the time. If there is a specific topic you would like to see covered, drop me a comment in one of my videos and let me know!
Free math help videos will be posted every Thursday and Friday. For additional math resources, check out my math help website at improvedmath.com where I post math worksheets and answers along with additional context on math basics.
Thanks for watching my channel.
