What are you waiting for? Did you know that arachnids aren't only spiders? There's so many more animals!

Hello friends! Welcome to a new Happy Learning video.
Today, we’re going to meet animals that have eight legs, and are a little scary! Today, we’re going to meet.. arachnids!

Same as insects, arachnids are invertebrates and belong to the arthropods. But don’t get confused! Arachnids are part of a different animal group than insects, while insects have six legs, arachnids have eight! Like you can see in these images.

Spiders, scorpions and dust mites are part of the arachnid family, and share a number of characteristics that we need to know.

They have four pairs of articulated legs, they don’t have antennae or wings, but they do have a pair of clamps by their mouth called chelicerae (kelicera) that they use to hold their prey.
A fun fact about arachnids is that they can’t chew, so they swallow their prey by sucking them in. They suck the soft parts as if with a straw. They are carnivores, and spiders and scorpions feed from insects, other arachnids and sometimes small reptiles and mammals.

An Arachnid’s body is divided in two parts: cephalothorax, consisting of their head, and thorax, joined in a single segment, and the abdomen, that can be segmented, or not.

Arachnids breathe through traqueas or pulmonary sacs.
And when they’re born, they look the same as they do when they are adults, but of course, they are much smaller.

Scorpions are the biggest arachnids, the largest ones can measure up to 20cm.
They have huge chelicerae (kelicera) in their heads they use them to grab their prey, before they inject venom with their sting at the end of their tail.

Spiders are the most popular arachnids, but also the scariest. Most of them are venomous, but very few are truly dangerous for human beings. The truth is spiders are astonishing animals.
Also! Apart from being able to produce their famous spider web, they are able to hunt their prey in multiple ways, look look!

Dust mites are the least popular arachnids, because they are so small you can’t see them at a glance, they are microscopic, but what is true is that they’re everywhere!
In every house there are thousands and thousands of dust mites…

Well, now we know a little more about arachnids, the truth is they are very strange and mysterious animals. But, as for everything else, they are important for balance of life, of this marvellous life.

Goodbye friends! See you next time! And don’t forget to suscribe to Happy learning TV.

Educational Videos and songs for Kids. Today we’re going to learn about amphibians!

Hello everybody! Today we’re going to look at a truly amazing group of vertebrates... When they’re born they usually live in water... but when they grow up and become adults they spend most of their time on land. We present - the Amphibians!
All amphibians have some common characteristics that you should know about so you can recognize and differentiate them.
Amphibians have thin, bare skin, with no hairs and scales to protect them. Most have four legs and a membrane between their toes that allows them to move much better in the water.
Amphibians are oviparous, but they don’t incubate their eggs after laying them... they abandon them and don’t care for their young. Not very good parents, huh?
When they hatch, they’re small larvae and live in water. Slowly... very slowly... their bodies go through a process called metamorphosis.
During this process, the body of the amphibian... changes... their front and rear legs, their limbs, grow... and their heads and their bodies develop, so they finally look like their parents.
In the early stages of their lives... amphibians breathe through gills, but when they grow up and become adults... they breathe with their lungs. The problem is, their lungs are very small, and cannot get all the oxygen they need to live. But nature is very clever... and has solved this problem by allowing them to breathe and get the oxygen they need... through their skin. That’s why they need to be near water - to keep their skin wet.
In the early stages of their life, some amphibians are herbivores, but when they grow up... most become carnivores. So they need to hunt...
Some have a long, sticky tongue they shoot out to capture prey.
Aren’t amphibians fascinating? And also a bit strange?!
So let’s remember the most important characteristics...
Amphibians are vertebrates; they’re oviparous; in the early stages of their life they live in water as larvae, but slowly they change until they look just like their parents. This process of change is called metamorphosis.
Amphibians are carnivores, so they have to hunt to eat; they have thin, smooth skin, and breathe through their skin and with their lungs.
Amphibians are so interesting, aren’t they?
Goodbye for now everyone, and don’t forget to subscribe to Happy Learning!

What are you waiting for? Did you know that spiders are one of the animals that most people are scared of? There are millions of people who have arachnophobia, meaning that when they see a spider, they run away screaming. The majority of these arachnids of eight legs, have six or eight eyes, and yet they have poor sight.

Did you know that the silk that comes out of the spider´s abdomen is much more resistant than steel wire of the same thickness? Well it is, and it’s a lot more elastic. Some say that if you were to use a spider’s web with the thickness of a pencil, it could stop a plane in flight. That’s incredible! Humans can use the spider´s web for many different things, such as bulletproof jackets, threads of suture for stitching wounds, clothes, violin strings or ropes used to hold a lot of weight, such as the one used by this mountaineer.

Did you know that spiders use their web to hunt as well as to travel? The spider’s web is very sticky and when an insect lands on it, it gets stuck and can’t escape and the spider then makes the most of it to eat it up. They also use their web to make cocoons for their eggs and some to glide from one place to another with the help of the wind, just like Spiderman.

The truth is spiders and the webs they make with their silk are one of the most fascinating facts we can learn from our nature, don’t you think?

Hello Friends and welcome to a new happy learning video. Today we are going to talk about some animals that existed 65 million years ago. I am sure you have heard about the dinosaurs, and I am certain you have seen many films and cartoons featuring dinosaurs. But...not everything that is told in these films is correct. So, if you don’t mind, let’s find out what they really were like and how they lived.
The first thing we need to understand is that people and dinosaurs never lived together.
The dinosaurs lived before human beings existed and they roamed the Earth for approximately 135 million years. That’s a really long time! They were the dominating vertebrates. Nowadays more than 500 different species have been identified thanks to bones and fossils found.
All dinosaurs were oviparous, meaning they reproduced by laying eggs but there were huge differences between them; some were very small while others were absolutely enormous...
So as to learn about them better, we have divided them into two major groups:
The Ornithischia and the Saurischia. What complicated names they have!
The Ornithischia or “bird-hipped” dinosaurs were herbivore, which means they only ate plants. The most well-known was the Triceratops. They were impressive, huh?
The Saurischia or “lizard hipped” dinosaurs are the ancestors of the crocodiles and lizards. Among this species there were carnivores and herbivores and within them the two most famous dinosaurs, the

diplodocus and the tyrannosaurus.
The diplodocus was the largest dinosaur. In 1907 an entire skeleton was found measuring 27 meters, although remains of these specimens have been found exceeding 50 meters. In these images you can observe just how enormous they were...
The Tyrannosaurus was and still is the most fearsome predator which has ever existed on our Planet. It was more than 4 metres high and could be up to 12 meters in length. In its mouth it had 60 razor sharp pointed teeth, and it could run...65 kms per hour!!! The truth is I would be absolutely petrified if I were to come across such an animal...
But wait a minute, how is it possible that such large and powerful animals completely disappeared off the face of the Earth?
Currently, the investigators are focusing on two big theories: the first is based on the impact of an asteroid or comet from outer space. The other theory maintains that the cause of the dinosaurs’ disappearance was due to a period of enormous volcanic activity. We actually still don’t truly know the reason. But what we do know with absolute certainty is that, right now, at this very moment there are still many animals in great danger of becoming extinct, and could even disappear. All of us can help them survive. How? By respecting nature, recycling, contaminating the least bit possible, buying only what we really need...If we make these efforts we will be able to live in a much healthier planet and we will at the same time be ensuring that no animal, not a single one, will ever be in danger of extinction again. Let’s hope with everybody’s help, we can make it happen.
Goodbye Friends oh and don’t forget to subscribe to happy learning TV.

Did you know that the biggest shark that has ever existed was the megalodon?
This gigantic beast had a length of 20 meters and weighed 20 tones! The megalodon lived nearly 20 million years ago and disappeared 2 million years ago. It is considered as one of the most powerful predators of history of the vertebrates and their favorite prey where sea mammals such as whales or dolphins. It is a shame that the megalodon has disappeared but to be honest, it would have been really scary. By the way, did you know that its name originated from Latin and it means ‘Big tooth’?

Did you know that sharks can have thousandths and thousandths of teeth in their life time?
Sharks have their denture distributed in layers. when a tooth breaks, immediately, it is replaced by the layers above.
In general sharks have between 5 and 15 lines of teeth, although the first line is the most important, and it is what they usually eat their prey with. Many scientists have assured us that sharks can have up to 30 million teeth during their life

Did you know that sharks don’t stop swimming, not even for when they need to sleep?
This is because of wo reasons. The first is because of their breathing. Whilst sharks swim, they maintain their mouth open, this way the water that contains a lot of oxygen, passes through their gills and absorbs the oxygen to be able to breath. The second reason is that, differently from all fish, sharks don’t have a swim bladder a kind of internal float that fills with air and allows them to float even though they are still. It sounds weird but it is true, if a shark stops swimming it will fall to the bottom of the ocean and drown. Although the sleeping fish is eaten by the shark…..

Hi Children, in this educational video we are going to learn another interesting animal, the chameleon, a multi-coloured reptile.
The chameleon is one of nature’s most curious reptiles, its capable of changing colour to camouflage, or to say, it can change its colour to match that of its surroundings, so no predators can see it… Look, look, try to find it…
The chameleon, like all reptiles, has a body that is completely covered in hard scales that protect him from its enemies, but they have a characteristic that makes them very special in comparison to other reptiles, do you know which one it is?
As you have discovered by looking at the images, chameleon’s eyes are very special. They are cone shaped and in the centre they have a hole where the pupil peeks out. The cone shape allows them to easily rotate their eyes completely in any direction. They can also move each eye independently, and that is why they have a 360 view, which is to say they can see everything that is happening around them without moving their head. But everything good that they have in their sight is bad in their hearing, why though? Why do you think that is?

As you can see they don’t have any ears and its believed they are deaf.
As we have already said the fundamental characteristic a chameleon has is that it can change its skin colour to adapt to its surrounding. However the colour change also depends on its emotional state… if they are angry… if they are scared or in love.
Another characteristic that surprises everyone is their way of hunting. Chameleons, like crocodiles, snakes and the majority of reptiles are carnivorous… which is why they need to hunt to survive.
The chameleons hunt their pray with their tongs. Their tongue is very long and can be deployed very rapidly. Its tip is sticky and when it touches its prey it sticks to it, making it very easy to then eat them. Chameleons feed mainly on insects although sometimes they can eat in small mammals or birds.

The truth is that chameleons are very extraordinary animals, don’t you think?
