Stars: Crash Course Astronomy #26
Stars: Crash Course Astronomy #26 Teacherflix 9 Просмотры • 2 лет тому назад

Today Phil’s explaining the stars and how they can be categorized using their spectra. Together with their distance, this provides a wealth of information about them including their luminosity, size, and temperature. The HR diagram plots stars’ luminosity versus temperature and most stars fall along the main sequence, where they live most of their lives.

Geometric Distributions and The Birthday Paradox: Crash Course Statistics #16
Geometric Distributions and The Birthday Paradox: Crash Course Statistics #16 Teacherflix 9 Просмотры • 2 лет тому назад

Geometric probabilities, and probabilities in general, allow us to guess how long we'll have to wait for something to happen. Today, we'll discuss how they can be used to figure out how many Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans you could eat before getting the dreaded vomit flavored bean, and how they can help us make decisions when there is a little uncertainty - like getting a Pikachu in a pack of Pokémon Cards! We'll finish off this unit on probability by taking a closer look at the Birthday Paradox (or birthday problem) which asks the question: how many people do you think need to be in a room for there to likely be a shared birthday? (It's likely much fewer than you would expect!)

In this video, children will find out when they were discovered, how we can observe them and the three categories in which we divide them: bacteria, viruses and fungi. Bacteria are prokaryotic cells and have no nucleus. Some are useful for making food and other are harmful, the treatment for these ones is antibiotics. Viruses are not living beings, they are much smaller and some of them cause diseases like flu or chickenpox. Vaccination is important to prevent diseases caused by viruses. Some fungi are microorganisms bigger than bacteria or viruses, they can be found in the air, in plants or in the water. Microorganisms can be everywhere, to avoid diseases it is very important to have good personal hygiene habits.

Determine the slope between two points with fractions
Determine the slope between two points with fractions Teacherflix 9 Просмотры • 2 лет тому назад

👉 Learn how to find the slope between two points. The slope of a line is the steepness of the line. The horizontal line has a zero slope while the vertical line has an undefined slope. To determine the slope of a line passing through two points, we need to know the coordinates of 2 points on the line. Then the slope of the line is given by the quotient of the difference between the y-coordinates and the difference between the x-coordinates. i.e. slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1).
