This is lesson 4 in our 10 part lesson series to teach you everything you need to know in Year 5 Maths.

This lesson focusses on Fractions. Fractions are an essential part of Year 5 maths and play an important part of the progress you'll make in year 5

We will begin by looking at equivalent fractions, then we will look at ordering and comparing fractions before converting back and forth from mixed number fractions to improper. Finally we will finish this lesson looking at how to add fractions which will include all the skills we had in this lesson.

In this video, I give you a complete review of fractions, including how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. In the beginning of the video, I also discuss how to reduce fractions and find common denominators, and toward the end of the video, I discuss mixed numbers and how to convert fractions to decimals.
