What might it feel like to invent calculus?
Help fund future projects: https://www.patreon.com/3blue1brown
An equally valuable form of support is to simply share some of the videos.
Special thanks to these supporters: http://3b1b.co/lessons/essence-of-calculus#thanks

In this first video of the series, we see how unraveling the nuances of a simple geometry question can lead to integrals, derivatives, and the fundamental theorem of calculus.

These animations are largely made using manim, a scrappy open source python library: https://github.com/3b1b/manim

If you want to check it out, I feel compelled to warn you that it's not the most well-documented tool, and it has many other quirks you might expect in a library someone wrote with only their own use in mind.

Music by Vincent Rubinetti.
Download the music on Bandcamp:

If you want to contribute translated subtitles or to help review those that have already been made by others and need approval, you can click the gear icon in the video and go to subtitles/cc, then "add subtitles/cc". I really appreciate those who do this, as it helps make the lessons accessible to more people.

You've probably heard of the big bang theory at some point. But do you know what it actually is? In The Big Bang Theory for Kids, you will learn what exactly this idea for how the universe began came to be in the first place. You will also learn a little about our own galaxy and solar system along the way.

The big bang theory was first suggested by a cosmologist and priest named Georges Lemaître in the 1920s. He estimates that the universe started out as a single atom at the beginning of time. Rather than by an explosion, the universe simply started to expand in a fraction of a second due to matter and energy. Over time, the expansion slowed, but Lemaître and many other scientists believe the universe is still expanding today.

The force of gravity plays a huge role in everything when it comes to the universe. All the objects in space form when particles and gases from the universe's expansion pull together (through gravity). When small amounts of dust and gas pull together, planets form and start to orbit the star. Another force called dark energy or dark matter is also important. We don't have a lot of information about it, but scientists think it's what causes cosmos apart faster and faster.

We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about this cool idea! If you want to learn even more, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans about the universe, full of activities, worksheets, and more!

Do you know what the five food groups are? Do you know which foods fall into each category? In Food Groups for Kids, you will learn about the benefits that foods in each of these groups provide your body and keep you healthy. You will also discover how many servings a day you should have of each one.

Fruits include things like apples, nectarines, and bananas. They provide your body with lots of essential vitamins and nutrients. Vitamin C and potassium are two very important vitamins and minerals that your body needs. Vegetables like carrots and spinach may not be as sweet as fruits, but they have tons of vitamins and nutrients that you need as well!

Grains probably makes you think of bread and cereal. This group also includes pasta, tortillas, and popcorn! These foods also provide you with fiber, which helps your body do a lot of good things. Next are proteins, which include foods like meat, fish, beans, and tofu. They can provide your body with energy and help your bones and muscles grow strong. Similarly, dairy products can also strengthen your bones, and give you vitamin D to help reduce your risk of diseases.

Each group requires a different number of servings each day. And those serving sizes differ as well. Fruits, for instance, require 1 1/2 cups per serving while proteins require 5 ounces per serving. Some foods even contain multiple food groups in one place, like pizza, which can have grains from the bread and toppings from the other four groups.

We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about these five different food groups! If you want to learn even more, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!

We all know the ocean is huge. But what else do we know? Ocean Facts for Kids offers just a few more interesting facts that you and your kids might not already know. For instance, almost 98% of all the water on the earth is in the ocean. The average depth is 2.3 miles deep. And that's just the average! One of the deepest parts is at the Mariana Trench, which is 36,198 feet deep—almost seven miles!

Do you know why there are waves? The most common type of wave is a surface wave. These are the ones we commonly see with the white tips that crash into the shore. These waves are caused by wind blowing across the surface of the ocean. Other waves occur because of gravity. These waves are called tides, which are affected by the moon's location in relation to the earth. And waves can even happen because of underwater explosions from volcanoes beneath the surface of the ocean. These explosions cause tsunamis!

Large parts of the ocean remain a mystery. Marine biologists estimate that there are between 700,000 and 1 million species that live in this ginormous pool. They also think that two-thirds of those species haven't even been discovered yet! That estimate doesn't include the millions of microorganisms living in the ocean.

We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about the world's beautiful ocean! If you want to learn even more, head over to our website and download one of our many lesson plans about the ocean, full of activities, worksheets, and more!

Endlich Business-Ready: Nutze NotebookLM direkt in deinem Google Workspace mit Gemini! Schluss mit privaten Accounts und unsicheren Bastel-Lösungen. 👇

In diesem Video erfährst du:

In this video 5 AI Warehouse agents compete to learn how to run 100m the fastest. The AI were trained using Deep Reinforcement Learning, a method of Machine Learning which involves rewarding the agent for doing something correctly, and punishing it for doing anything incorrectly. Each agent's actions are controlled by a Neural Network that's updated after each attempt in order to try to give the agents more rewards and less punishments over time. FUN FACTS ABOUT HALLOWEEN

Hello Friends, welcome to a new Happy Learning Video. Look at these images! Witches, Monsters, Ghosts, living dead… yes, it’s arrived… Halloween! and laughs and scares, and candy!

But do you know what Halloween’s origins are? Do you know why we use pumpkins so often? Today, we’re going to get to know lots of things that you didn’t know about… The night of the living dead!

There are many theories about Halloween’s origins, but the most spreaded one, says that this party started thousands of years ago in Irland, were the Celts celebrated the end of harvesting and the start of autumn.

Over time, it was celebrated on the 31st of October, which was when they believed spirits from the dead came back to life. Because this was very scary, everyone would dress up as a ghost or zombie, so spirits wouldn’t recognize them, and wouldn’t attack them. Also, so they wouldn’t get upset, sweets and candy were left at doorsteps for them.

Because there was no electric light, pumpkins, were used as lanterns. Pumpkins were carved and emptied, to be filled with candles and red hot coal, to guide the spirits with their light! But… there are people who also believe pumpkins were placed on doorsteps with face shapes to scare off the spirits.

Now we’ve got to know things we didn’t know about Halloween, everyone let’s dress up… Goodbye friends! See you in the next happy learning video. Ah! And don’t forget to subscribe to Happy Learning tv! Trick or treat!

Recommended video: Jobs and their classification

-----

Hello friends, welcome to a new happy learning video. We already know that jobs are divided into three sectors. The Primary sector, extracts raw materials from nature, the Secondary or manufacturing sector, transforms raw materials into elaborated or semi elaborated products and the tertiary or service sector, is the one we are going to learn about today.

The tertiary sector are jobs where the products made in the secondary are sold to us, or offering us a service. So you understand it better, we’re going to look at two examples.

In a shop, they sell us products in exchange for money, like food or clothes. In a hairdressers, however, they don’t sell us a product, they cut our hair so we look beautiful, they offer us a service in exchange for money. These activities, both those who sell us a product and those who offer us a service are part of the tertiary sector.

Let’s get to know various kinds of economic activities, or jobs which are in the tertiary sector. You’ll see some are suuuper important.

Welfare is in charge of looking after our health. Doctors and nurses work hard to take care of us if we’re sick. It’s a super important sector, Don’t you think?

Education is also suuper important. Teachers work in schools to teach students knowledge and values. Thanks to education, we’ll be able to reach a greater world in the future, cleaner and with greater justice.

Transport is also a service. Taxis, buses, lorries, trains, boats and planes, transport goods, animals and people, from one place to another. The bus which takes us to school is part of this sector.

Communication is another crucial type of service nowadays. The internet or mobile phones allow us to communicate from great distances.

And finally, trade. Shops where we can buy everything we need, food, clothes, anything! When trade is made within the country, it’s called domestic trade, but when it’s done between countries, it’s called international trade. If our country buys products from other countries, we call it import. But if our country is the one to sell their products, we call it export.

There are more jobs dedicated to the service sector, like tourism, banks, restaurants, but there’s one which we love, entertainment! The Cinema, theatre, football or attraction parks all make us have lots of fun in our leisure time.

There are lots of types of jobs in the tertiary sector, don’t you think? And some super fun ones!

Do you want to get to know more about the different jobs in the tertiary sector? Do you want to know what imports and exports are?
You do? Well click on this link and you’ll be able to watch the whole video on Happy Learning Tv, I’m sure you’ll get an excellent grade in your exam.

For this maker challenge, students decide on specific design requirements (such as good traction or deep cushioning), sketch their plans, and then use a variety of materials to build prototype shoes that meet the design criteria. The bottoms (soles) of sneakers provide support, cushioning, flexibility and traction as makes sense for the sport or activity. In addition, some sneakers are intended to be fashionable with cool colors, materials or added height. Sneakers are engineered products that use a mix of materials to create highly functional, useful shoes.

The purpose of this lesson is to introduce students to the basic elements of our Earth's crust: rocks, soils and minerals. They learn how we categorize rocks, soils and minerals and how they are literally the foundation for our civilization. Students also explore how engineers use rocks, soils and minerals to create the buildings, roads, vehicles, electronics, chemicals, and other objects we use to enhance our lives.
