Today, we're going to talk about five common types of algorithmic bias we should pay attention to: data that reflects existing biases, unbalanced classes in training data, data that doesn't capture the right value, data that is amplified by feedback loops, and malicious data. Now bias itself isn't necessarily a terrible thing, our brains often use it to take shortcuts by finding patterns, but bias can become a problem if we don't acknowledge exceptions to patterns or if we allow it to discriminate.

Addition and Subtraction by 10 | Teaching Math for First Grade Kids Academy

You are reading this article right now probably because your child is now in grade 2 and he is at that stage where you are struggling hard to educate him about the concept of subtraction and addition. Well, for starters, we know that teaching a child the rudiments of maths is a one daunting and tiring task mainly because there are children out there who just hate maths. Well, if your kid is one of them and if you think he just isn’t interested in learning subtraction and addition then don’t worry because today we are here with some solutions that might work for you. Because at the end of the day, maths is important and you can’t just run away from this struggle.

For starters, if it’s the beginning then we’d suggest you start with the numbers that fall between 1 to 10. Yes, you read that right! You see, if you directly start juggling between numbers 1 - 100 then chances are that your child will get confused and he will lose all the interest he has for maths. So, whenever you are starting, just work on the numbers from 1 to 10 because that way it will be easier for your child to pick the concept of addition and subtraction.

Not only this, in fact, you can opt for Youtube videos because let’s face it, children just love visuals and they would do anything to watch online videos. So, why not use this to teach them about the rudiments of maths? You see the concept of adding and subtracting is a little confusing for your child but if you make the learning process a little more fun, we assure you that you will find some success in it.

So, use videos, play games and read your children some story books that somehow are related to maths and especially addition and subtraction.

It also includes a constantly updated page on the Corona Pandemic.

In December 2019 the Chinese authorities notified the world that a virus was spreading through their communities. In the following months it spread to other countries, with cases doubling within days. This virus is the “Severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2”, that causes the disease called COVID19, and that everyone simply calls Coronavirus.

What actually happens when it infects a human and what should we all do?

Indefinite and definite integral problems begin the same way but differ in how you interpret their results.

The result of an indefinite integral is a family of functions whereas a definite integral determines the area underneath the function you are integrating over the closed interval [a,b].

This algebra 2 and precalculus video tutorial explains how to determine whether a function f is even, odd, or neither algebraically and using graphs. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems using variables and constants. First, plug in -x into the equation and see if the sign changes. If all signs change, it's an odd function. If they all remain the same, then it's an even function. If some change while others do not, the function is neither even or odd. For graphs, even functions are symmetric about the y axis. For odd functions, the symmetry exists about the origin. For circles with even and odd properties, it does not pass the vertical line test and is therefore not a function.

Trigonometry is an easy way to work out the unknown sides and angles of a right angled triangle. The trick - know the side names - the opposite, hypotenuse, and adjacent, and know how and when to apply the trigonomic functions - sin, cos and tan. This is the only trick to getting it right every time!
In this lesson, students learn work out unknown side lengths using use sine, cosine, and tangent. You will need a scientific calculator for the problems in this lesson - and I'll show you how to access one on your computer.

What is Alzheimer's Disease and what causes it? In this video designed for elementary learning we explore those questions and help gain a deeper understanding of this disease. Many of us know someone who has been affected by dementia or Alzheimers and if not many of us might in the future. We hope this video helps students gain a better understanding of the disease, its causes, symptoms, and some prevention techniques.

Alzheimer's Disease is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking, and behavior. Dementia is a set of symptoms that may include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving, or language. Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common cause of dementia.

Alzheimer's Symptoms: As a person ages, they may forget things. It is normal. However, one of the symptoms of AD is consistent memory loss, especially of recent events and new information. This is the most noticeable trait of Alzheimer’s, it usually occurs gradually at first, but gets worse over time.

Alzheimer's Prevention Ideas: As you learn, your brain is constantly making connections, and one way that might help prevent Alzheimer’s as you get older is to produce new connections. You can do this by staying active, mentally and physically. This also apples to adult family members or friends who do not have AD. Encourage them to be active too.

Do you want to learn more about Alzheimer's Disease? Download our free comprehensive lesson plan here: https://learnbright.org/lesson....s/science/alzheimers This lesson has extra content, worksheets, classroom activities and more!
